Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. You only pay for the items you love and decide to keep. There is a $20 styling fee which is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. If you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

I review my fixes on a monthly basis, but my friend April is pregnant and volunteered to do a review on the maternity fix, so here goes!

April’s Maternity Stitch Fix Review:

Stitch Fix Maternity March 2016 Subscription Box Review

I have been a fan of Stitch Fix for quite a while but have only ever tried out the service once – so I was very excited to try the new maternity Stitch Fix. I received my first fix at about 17 weeks pregnant and it has been the most rewarding maternity shopping I have done yet!

I don’t know about you but I think shopping for maternity clothes is the worst.thing.ever. And I LOVE shopping, even for groceries! 75% of the maternity clothes I encounter consist of wrapping your belly in a bow like a present. It’s just not my style. And no more stripes either! So, I made sure in my note to my stylist that I was looking for styles that show my bump (no tents, please), no empire waists and no ties around the belly. I also asked for a couple of dresses for an upcoming work trip to New York. I filled out the max character limit on the fix note and I think it helped make my fix 10,000 times better!

~Loveapella Maternity, Callahan Lace Shoulder Knit Top ($54): So, I’ll be honest – this top violated 2 of my rules – no belly tie and no more stripes. I almost don’t want to admit how much I liked it! The material was soft and the lace detailing on the shoulders is what put me over the edge. This top definitely seemed to be of better quality than others I’ve purchased at maternity stores. But, for $54 I just couldn’t justify keeping another striped top. Returned this one! Verdict: Returned

~41Hawthorn Colibri Solid Tab Sleeve Blouse ($48):
This top was the only disappointment and I know why. It was not a maternity top and there’s no way I can fit into my normal size small with these lovely lady lumps… There really isn’t a worse feeling than a pregnant lady trying to shove herself into her regular clothes!

~Mavi, Collette Maternity Skinny Jeans (Pictured with both tops) ($98)These jeans were super soft and stretchy. I absolutely loved them but just couldn’t justify the $98 price tag. I already have a pair of Paige maternity jeans that are very similar. That said, I would have purchased these jeans if I liked the other 2 tops enough to purchase my entire fix. Verdict: Returned!

~Loveapella Maternity, Greta Maternity Dress ($68): When I rated my fix, I told them this dress should be included in all initial maternity fixes – it is that good! Yes, it is a basic v-neck black dress. But it is super thick, lined, ruched and extremely flattering! It is literally everything I was looking for in a maternity dress – and for only $68! That isn’t a lot when I know I can wear it now with a blazer or sweater and all summer long as well. It is long enough right now that I can tell I’ll still be able to wear it to work when my belly is bigger, too! Absolutely keeping this one! Verdict: Kept.

~Le Lis, Marrit Maternity Dress ($58): Another winner! This dress is exactly what I was hoping would be in my fix for my NYC trip! You probably can’t tell from the photos but it has a texture to it so it’s a bit thicker and accentuates the bump, but doesn’t have a lot of ruching. The dress has a seam across the middle and a bit of ruching that gathers to one side. It is the perfect length and I absolutely love the detailing. I knew I would love it right when I saw it in my fix! You can’t beat the $58 price tag. Pretty sure I spend more than that on ice cream per month! Verdict: Keep!

Stitch Fix Maternity March 2016 Subscription Box Review

Overall I was extremely satisfied with my first maternity Stitch Fix. My stylist, Louisa, hit it out of the park. I will request her next time for sure! It definitely helped that I filled out the Fix note with specifics on what I wanted and didn’t want. My only disappointment was the non-maternity top that didn’t fit. If it would have fit, I likely would have kept my entire fix! I feel like one fix per month is a great treat during pregnancy and I can’t wait to see what my next Fix holds!
