Jerky Snob August 2016 Subscription Box Review

Jerky Snob is a subscription-based service that sends healthy and delicious monthly shipments of great jerky that is made by independent and small artisans.  You can opt for the 1/2 pound box ($27/month) which includes 3-4 bags or the 1 pound box ($54/month), which includes 6-8 bags.  I received the 1/2 pound box for review.

Jerky Snob ships via USPS between the 3rd and the 7th of the month.  If you order after the 1st of the month, your first box will ship the following month.

I think jerky boxes are my husband’s favorite type of subscription boxes. Those and clothing ones.

The August 2016 Jerky Snob included the following items:

~Northwest Bierhaus IPA Beef Jerky (4oz) ($11): This jerky brings together the golden hops of IPA beer and the jerky that Northwest Bierhaus is known for.   B said this one was a little too juicy for his jerky preferences, but I think it would have been really good on a cheese / meat plate.

~Golden Valley Natural Original Beef Jerky (1oz) ($2.40): This organic beef jerky has natural smoky flavors of ranch-raised beef, sea salt and onion.  B loved this one and would for sure have it again.  He said it was just the perfect combination of chewiness and tastiness.

~True Gentleman’s Jerky Peppered Beef Jerky (2.25oz) ($7.99): This beef jerky has fresh garlic and ground pepper.  B is more of an original beef jerky guy, but he really likes all beef jerky, so he was more than happy with this.

~Side Project Jerky Mongolian Beef Jerky (2oz) ($7.50): Side Project Jerky is described as “jerky for gentlemen”. Of course, I asked B what he thought if it and he said it was “good.”  That’s his description for pretty much anything he likes.  He’d have it again ;).

All totaled I came up with a value of $28.89 for the August 2016 Jerky Snob box. That’s slightly over the cost of the box and not a bad deal for a jerky.  I loved all the variety of the jerky!
