Indigo Artbox is a subscription box for anyone looking for a creative outlet and fun way to learn about art. Each month, they deliver art projects that are inspired by art history to your door with all the materials that you need. Supply delivery includes full-size art supplies and is combined with two short online videos: on art history for inspiration and on technique for guidance.
Indigo Artbox ships via USPS. If you order on or before the 25th of the month, you will receive your first box the following month. For example, if you order on October 25th or before you will receive the November box. If you order on October 26th, your subscription will begin with the December box.
The videos (which you have full access to once you are a subscriber) contain detailed project instructions, but Indigo Artbox also includes a few written directions.
The September 2016 Indigo Artbox featured “Drawing with Oil Pastels Inspired by Claude Monet.”
Materials:
~Set of oil pastels
~Butcher paper
~Envelope containing: 2 cards with art inspiration, sketch paper, and mixed media paper.
~Storage case containing: blue painter’s tape, drawing pencil and eraser and blending tools (tortillion and color shaper).
The Art
Ahh, so my project didn’t turn out like a Monet ;). But I had fun with the oil pastels and playing with the blending tools. If you hold it really far away from you and squint a little, it looks great ;).
