Loot Crate March 2015 Subscription Box Review
Loot Crate March 2015 Subscription Box

Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box full of hand-picked, awesome geek and gamer products. Each month, for less than $20, you’ll receive 6-8 products which are guaranteed to have a value of $30 or more.

The Box

Loot Crate now ships via FedEx Smart Post.  Smart Post is slower than USPS which is what they previously used, however, they are now shipping boxes earlier so subscribers will be receiving them around the same time each month.  So pretty much, there’s no difference to subscribers.

First Look

If I had to guess I would say that Loot Crate sends t-shirts in about 40% of the boxes they ship.  As you can see in the first look, the March box had one.

The Information Book

The March 2015 Loot Crate theme was Covert and included the following items:

~Loot Crate Exclusive: Bond – This is Stirred T-Shirt: I think this is my favorite Loot Crate shirt they’ve ever sent.  Besides the design being cute, it’s  nicely fitted and very soft.

~Loot Crate Exclusive: Field Agent Blink Time Wrist Watch:  When you tap on this the time displays.  Otherwise it’s just a “stealth” watch.  I tapped it so you could see how the time displays and then quickly snapped a picture.

~Spy Mad Libs ($3.99): OMG.  I love Mad Libs.  I didn’t even know they still made these.  I can’t wait to do these with L!

~Loot Crate Exclusive: Replica Agents of Shield Lanyard: I can already see the boys fighting over this!  It’ll mainly hang in L’s superhero themed room, but I know they will both wear it as well.

~Loot Crate Exclusive: Paracord Survival Bracelet: This bracelet is made out of military grade parachute cord and can be unwrapped in an emergency and used for “a multitude of things that possibly save a life or get you out of a crazy situation”.  To tell you the truth (not that you are surprised I’m sure) I am not sure what I would do with it even if I did get it unwrapped in an emergency?  I do think it’s cool though!

~Loot Crate Exclusive: Orphan Black Comic Book: I actually have heard of Orphan Black, but only in mention.  I will likely end up passing this on to a friend who will appreciate it more than I would since I am not super familiar with it.

~Loot Crate Exclusive: Special Agent Dossier Notebook 2-Pack (Field Notes): We’ve gotten items from Field Notes in other subscription boxes and have always been happy with the products.  I suspect B is going to end up using these for National Guard weekends.  I think they will fit nicely in his uniform pockets.

I couldn’t do a cost breakdown on this box since there were so many Loot Crate exclusives.  I thought this was a really cool month though and was quite happy with it all.
