Second First Look

NewBeauty TestTube packages everything in a, you guessed it, a tube!  There have been months that everything didn’t fit in the tube, but this was not one of those months.  I hadn’t checked out any spoilers for this box, so I went into it not knowing what to expect.

The Information Book
The Information Book

NewBeauty TestTube includes a great information book with product information, prices, details on where to buy the products, etc.  Here is what was included in the July 2015 shipment:

~Quikee by Supersmile ($18): Quickee is a “whitening treatment that helps protect, beautify and preserve the teeth.”  It works instantly to remove stains and freshen breath without brushing.  In fact, you don’t even need to rinse. It’s a cool item and a totally new product to me. I will be keeping this one in my purse.

~GrandeLASH-MD Grande Mascara (~$5):I wasn’t a big fan of this.  It felt dry and didn’t seem to length my lashes. It gets great reviews though so maybe I just got a bad one?

~Laura Geller Waterproof Eye Spackle Hues ($23): I love that this is called “spackle”.  It doubles as a primer and an eye shadow.  I would probably wear shadow over it though because it is fairly light.  It applied smoothly though and didn’t get all stuck in the creases of my eyelids.

~Balanced Guru Style Me Roots to Ends Hair Oil ($9.50): This is probably my favorite item in the tube.  It smooths hair and adds shine, both of which I love and need.  You don’t have to use a ton of it either, so it’ll last a while.

~IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil (Universal Taupe) ($12): I just received this exact product in my June ipsy so I didn’t even both to swatch it. I like the brush side well enough, but I don’t need two so I will either trade this or give it to a friend.

~Ojon Damage Reverse Restorative Conditioner ($10): Subscribers either received this product or the Ojon Rare Blend Protecting Treatment.  I would have preferred the treatment, but that’s only because I like to treat shampoos and conditioners together.  It smells okay, but it’s not anything amazing.

~GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment ($19): I love GlamGlow and I love getting it in subscription boxes.  It looks like actual mud (with seaweed in it) and it makes my feel instantly brighter.

~Wen Cleansing Conditioner (~$8): I estimated the price on this one because there wasn’t a size listed on the bottle.  It smells like mint chocolate chip ice-cream which I do love, but I wish the go-with shampoo was included.  Still it’s good stuff and I will certainly use it. Obviously I skipped over the information card on this because I thought I “got” how it worked.  I was wrong – so wrong.  It’s a 5-in-1 product designed to replace your shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler, and leave-in conditioner.  You’d think I would know this since I have actually purchased WEN on my own a few years ago from QVC. This changes everything!  Except the fact that it smells like mint chocolate chip ice-cream.  That is totally true.

All totaled I came up with a value of $104.50 for the July 2015 NewBeauty TestTube. The value was there and there were a few things in here I loved, but I don’t know, I just wasn’t feeling this month.  I may take a break from NewBeauty TestTube for a few months and pick them back up in the fall or winter.
