The Big Kid Mode is geared more for adults (or families with older children 12 plus) and is more about Awesome higher quality games and activities. We received the Awesome Family Pack for review.
Awesome Pack ships via USPS during the last two weeks of the month.
I loved this first look. My 4 year-old (W) helped me unbox it and he was so into checking everything out.
Our April 2016 Awesome Pack included the following items:
~We Detectives: We Detectives is UK game for ages 7+. It’s a teamwork game as opposed to an I win – you lose game which I find intriguing. You work together to figure out who committed crimes in the city. I am going to bring this one up-north this summer for rainy afternoons. I think that it will be a good one for L and his older cousins to work on together.
~Crayola Wild Notes: I was so excited to receive this, but it just didn’t work out for us. It’s described as a “seriously fun way to write” and it looks like it would be, but ours wasn’t as vivid as I thought it would be. It was dull and almost yellow? You could see a bit of color in it, but nothing like we expected.
~Paw Patrol Color and Sticker Fun: W grabbed this and started to color in the little coloring book right away. He also already used every single one of the stickers. I’d say this was a win!
~Thomas & Friends AirFoil Kite: We haven’t gotten a chance to use this yet (the weather hasn’t been right when we’ve had time), but how can you go wrong with a Thomas kite? You can’t according to W!
~Pixel Pops: I should have taken a picture of the actual contents of this box. They are all single cubes with sticky backs that you can attach together to build whatever you want. I have done some similar crafts and to be honest, you need a lot of patience. It comes with a special tool to help you maneuver these, but it still can be a tricky for little hands. They are fun and end up looking cute, but it’s more fun if you break it up into segments to build.
~Grab and Go Angry Birds Activity Pack: This activity pack includes 6 sticker sheets, 3 play scenes and 6 coloring pages. My 4 year-old went for the Paw Patrol pack included in here first, but it’s only a matter of time before he gets into this one.
~The Ugglys Pet Shop Ugly Pets: These are ugly, but in a cute way. Each container includes 2 ugly animals. We received 2 containers so each of my boys gets one. That is one of my favorite things about Awesome Pack. If they send small items like a pin or a blind bag, they send two – one for each of my boys so there is no fighting. They are awesome at customizing boxes in that way.
~Activity Book: All Awesome Pack‘s include an activity book with puzzles, a journal to write about all the fun you have been having and additional activities to do. April was B and W’s Birthday Month, so our Pack included birthday cards for each of them as well.
I couldn’t find prices for all of the items we received in our pack, but I was really happy with it. They find (and include) games that we’d never discover otherwise!
