POPSUGAR Must Have Box ships via FedEx Smart Post and takes about a week to arrive. They seem to ship in batches (no idea if there is any rhyme or reason to the order they use) so some people get their boxes delivered before other people have gotten shipping notices.
Fun Fact: POPSUGAR Must Have Box was the first box I have ever subscribed to way back in June 2012! It was POPSUGAR Must Have “Bag” back then, and their first shipment was in July 2012 (you can see my review of that box here).
The March 2017 POPSUGAR Must Have Box was inspired by “spring fever * playful * travel * nostalgia * carnival * snapshot.” The card seemed very vacation like.
The March 2017 POPSUGAR Must Have Box included the following items:
~Kate Spade New York Photo Album ($20): This photo album has 40 sheets and fits 80 4″ x 6″ photographs. I think it’s adorable, and I love the “Small Album Big Picture” quote, but I don’t personally use photo albums anymore. That said, I think this could be turned into a fantastic gift for a Grandma (to use as “brag book”) or a Bride or something along those lines. Fill it up with pictures for them, and it’d be such a thoughtful gift!
~Stephanie Johnson Camera Crossbody Bag (Red) ($45): This bag is 9″ L x 4″ W x 7″ D (scratch that, O measured it today and it’s smaller than that – more like 8″ x 3″ x 7″ so it’s not exactly like the one linked) and is designed for a camera, but will work at the beach or pool to keep your essentials safe. It reminds me of the bag I used to have to use when I worked at a mall clothing store. It fits my iPhone 6+ which makes me happy, but I can’t see myself wearing this as a crossbody. If anything I will shorten the straps and use it as a makeup bag. The straps are removable (well, one side could be removed, you’d have to cut the other side off) so it can also be used as a clutch, but I can’t see that happening either (I don’t really like people looking at the stuff in my bag). I’d toss it in a bigger bag for the beach though.
~Sunny Life Eco Lunch Box in Watermelon ($18): POPSUGAR has actually sent a few lunch boxes over the years (according to my “look back” we got one in August 2015, August 2014 and August 2013), but this is the cutest! I wish it had built in dividers, but I will find some containers that work inside.
~Thrive Cosmetics Brilliant Eye Brightener in Stella ($24): This highlighter “highlights, brightens and opens the eyes, providing an instant eye lift.” It’s super versatile and also vegan + cruelty-free; paraben, sulfate, + latex + petrochemical-free. Note: This is the item that POPSUGAR teased in their Instagram spoiler.
~Smashmallows in Cinnamon Churro ($4): Delicious! These won’t last until summer, but I think they would be absolutely incredible in s’mores. These are probably one of the best snacks POPSUGAR has sent and maybe the best gourmet marshmallows I have tried.
~Velvet Eyewear $25 Card: The box also included a $25 gift card to Velvet Eyewear. Prices for Velvet Eyewear pieces start at $45. Since you have to spend money to use it, I opted not to include it in the value of the box.
All totaled the March 2017 POPSUGAR Must Have Box had a value of $111. I’ll admit, it wasn’t my favorite box they have put together. I liked the theme they were going for, and I feel like with one more item (like a FuijFilm INSTAX Mini Camera (ETA: I’ll admit, I am dreaming here) it would have been a complete hit with me.
