Things I Love Thursday: Wedding Dress Edition!

In honor of tomorrow’s Royal Wedding (which I am SO excited about), as well as, one of my favorite tv shows (Say Yes to the Dress), I am dedicating this weeks Things I Love Thursday to wedding dresses!  Who doesn’t love looking at / commenting on, other peoples wedding dresses?   Some girls on SYTTD (and in real life) seriously pick the craziest stuff out. I am NOT a fan of those Pnina Tornai dresses with the see thru stomach area.  I am 100% sure that Kate Middleton will not be wearing one of those tomorrow. Not a chance.  I don’t think she’ll be wearing one of my picks either, but you never know…

Without further ado, here are some of my all time favorite wedding dresses:

Monique Lhuillier

Monique Lhuillier “Sunday Rose”:  Oh my.  Words cannot even express how much I love this dress.  It’s stunning.  Just stunning.  Did I mention it was $8,500 and that I still love it?  Love it.  When I get married to Prince Harry, this is what I am wearing.  I do not care what the Queen says.  This is my dress.

Amsale

Amsale Sash Dress: I have loved this dress for years and years.  I don’t know why I am drawn to it, but I always have been.  I’m not sure what sash color is my favorite and it’s not my top dress choice (anymore), but if I were trying on dresses, I would have to try this one on. Although, it’s been out for ages and maybe it’s been discontinued by now?  Who knows. I’d still want to try it on though and I would make Kleinfields track it down for me so I could.  I believe this one retailed for around $3,000?  And years ago I thought that was crazy.  And now I am thinking, wow, what a deal.  Oh how times change.

Lazaro

Lazaro LZ3013: No idea why, but I love these feathers.  Totally love them.  It’s possible I could look like a giant bird when I actually tried it on, but I would want to find out.  I can’t find a price for this online, which probably means it’s out of my league.  But that wouldn’t stop me.  In fact, I like it even more.  Does anyone out there know anything about this dress?  For example, why it doesn’t have a price listed?? And why haven’t I ever been to a wedding where the bride has worn feathers? I need to get out more.

Jim Hjelm

Jim Hjelm JH8663: This dress is NOT my style at all since I am not usually a fan of lace. Well, I don’t like lace on me anyways. But something about this dress makes me like it.  I know it would look awful on me, so this is more of one of my favorite dresses for someone else.  Someone please get this dress and let me know how beautiful it is in person.  Better yet, invite me to your wedding so I can check it out and comment on it in person.  Oh, and I give good wedding gifts. Maybe you could wear the feather dress down the aisle and this one at the reception? Just an idea.

Narcisco Rodriguez

Narciso Rodriguez (One of a Kind): What would a wedding dress post be without mentioning Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s amazing gown?  This dress is timeless and will look amazing 50 years from now.  And at a cost of $40,000, it better.  But really, this dress is a classic and that’s what makes me love it so much.  This may be the most perfect wedding picture ever.  And I still cannot believe they are gone now.

I know most all women love wedding dresses, so I cannot wait to hear what your all time favorite dresses are.  Maybe it’s your own wedding dress?  Maybe you look back now and hate your dress.  What do you think Kate’s dress will look like?  Will it be “royal” like Diana’s (so not my style) or more modern?  I’m not sure if I will be able to sleep tonight I am so excited!
