CoverGirl and Kroger!

Thank you to Kroger and CoverGirl for sponsoring this review. While CoverGirl provided me with a $30 gift card to purchase CoverGirl products at Kroger stores, the opinions I’ve expressed here are solely my own, represent my honest viewpoint, and not that of CoverGirl, Kroger, or Proctor & Gamble. I am making no claims about the products, just expressing my thoughtful opinion. Clever Girls Collective supports Blog With Integrity.

I grocery shop at Kroger on a regular basis, but I’ll be the first to admit that I do not typically browse the make-up aisles there.  I have always assumed they didn’t have a big selection, that it was more expensive than other stores, etc.  So when I was challenged by CoverGirl (via Clever Girls Collective), I jumped at the chance.  But I did kind of think to myself that with only $30, I was going to talk out the door with 2 things.

I set out one Sunday morning, gift card in hand, to see what I could get for my money.  I was more than pleasantly surprised by the prices.  Who knew?  I had a great time picking things out and trying my best get as many goodies to test out as I could.  Here is my haul:

CoverGirl NatureLuxe ($9.99): First of all, I love that this is not thick like that traditional liquid foundations.  I tend to stay away from liquid foundation for that reason or I them with lotion to thin them out a bit.  But I saw this and liked the container (I’m all about being honest here), so I went for it.  And you know what?  I LOVED it.  It’s not cakey at all and just makes me look like me, but better.
CoverGirl TruBlend Minerals Pressed Powder ($8.19): I know you are supposed to use this with the TruBlend foundation, but I find that it works great alone or with the NatureLuxe.  I really like that this isn’t heavy or thick either.  Used lightly, it’s a good to way to control the shine.  For the price, you really can’t beat it.
CoverGirl Classic Color Blush ($4.55): I was expecting this to be your standard everyday blush.  I mean, for $4.55, how great could it be?  I was totally not expecting the fabulous shimmer that came with it.  I was blown away.
CoverGirl Last Blast Fusion ($7.34): Love it!  I’ll admit it, I am an expensive mascara girl, but I think this may now be my go to mascara. I love the length it gives me and the applicator is great.  And I love that Kroger displays the different types of applicators right on the shelf.

I’ll admit it, I went over the $30 limit.  I spent $30.07 :).  Can you believe I got all that for only $30?  I was blown away and am so thankful for this opportunity.  I am all for saving money and Kroger and CoverGirl sure fit right in!

What would you get if you had $30 to spend on CoverGirl products at Kroger?  Do tell!

OMG love! I have been a total makeup cheapie lately too! Although I haven’t tried any of these, I may now!

You can get some great makeup at Kroger with coupons, sales and clearances. However, I am a total makeup snob and only use Clinique.
