Poor little L

Poor little man 🙁

Somehow my poor little man caught the croup in the middle of summer ;(. B took him to the doctor yesterday and we thought we’d be all set, but he started getting worse as the evening wore on and I did not like the way his breathing sounded when he was sleeping.

So I dragged him to our local Urgent Care (which is also a 24 hour emergency room) and we were seen right away (score!). L is usually a sport about going to the doctors and always chats it up with the doctors and nurses. Not last night though. He was SO mad I dragged him out of bed and keep saying “but I did NOT want to come here”. Poor guy :(. Lucas had to get a special breathing treatment to open up his airways which required monitoring for 2-6 hours after it was administered. L spent the time sleeping (and not coughing thankfully), while I spent the time reading People and Vanity Fair. I can’t remember the last time I sat quietly and read a magazine from cover to cover. Luckily L did not have any of the rebound effect that they worry about and we were sprung after the two hours.

So basically, this is why I didn’t have a post this morning. We had a late night and came home and crashed. We are taking it easy today (lots of cartoons and liquids) and hoping the worst is over.  Normal posting to resume soon!

(Ooops!) Always sad to see your little man slow down from his normal self. Hope by now he is feeling much better. (We used to do a lot of steamy showers and sit in there with the kids…seemed like it helped.)
