The weekend is over. How sad :(. But once again, we had a great time!
Friday:
When L and I got home on Friday, we realized that poor little Gungo had died. L took it very well and didn’t seem to mind at all. He’s planning to get a new fish and will name it Gungo. Again. After B bbq’ed us dinner, L and I played outside while B mowed the lawn. We searched for golfballs in the field, but couldn’t find any :(. After L went to bed, B and I watched “The Beaver”, which did not get a thumbs up vote from me.
Saturday:
B headed out on his run early Saturday so he could get it out of his way for the day. L and I had breakfast and watched some Saturday morning cartoons. We went outside just as B was finishing his run, so L hopped in his Escalade while B did his cool down walk. We spent the rest of the morning (and early afternoon) playing choo-choos and blocks. B and I had a wedding to go to on Saturday night, so we dropped L off at Nana and Papa’s house. As always, he was so thrilled to spent the night there. I got talked into spending the night downtown, so we also dropped the dogs off at the “spa”. They needed to get groomed anyways, so it worked out perfect. We checked into hotel, got ready and then headed to meet some friends for dinner before the ceremony / reception. We had a nice all adult meal and none of us could remember the last time we ate with another couple, with no kids. The wedding we attended was at the Detroit Historical Museum, which was super neat. I have never been to a weeding like that and it was really neat to be able to wander through the museum. The actually ceremony was hysterical. The words “I am going to marry the sh*t out of you two” came out of the officiants mouth. We were all cracking up. I totally enjoyed my cocktails and cupcakes at the wedding and think all weddings should include cupcakes ;). Oh, and I didn’t post any pictures of the bride, since I think brides should get the final word on when their wedding day pictures are released!! We got back to the hotel and considered heading down to the casino, but we vetoed that and just relaxed in the room and watched the hurricane coverage.
Sunday:
I woke up early on Sunday morning, and tried to get B to wake up too, but he pretended not to hear me and went back to sleep. Once he got up, we headed down to the empty casino (I LOVE when the casino is empty). We had a great time, but weren’t winners this time :(. We did get free crank flashlights and had a free brunch, so I guess we were sort of winners. We made a quick stop at Target to pick up some supplies, picked up the freshly groomed dogs and then picked up L, who was probably more excited to see the dogs than he was to see us. Once we got home we spent the rest of the day playing outside and doing some baking. I know L was exhausted from his busy weekend, but he was not too pleased when B and I dragged him back inside after dinner to take a bath and get ready for bed. But he pretty much fell asleep within 15 minutes of his head hitting the pillow, which is pretty good for him. B and I are watching Big Brother and getting ready for the VMA’s, which I am super excited for!
What did you do this weekend?
