So L has seen the commercial for Squishy Baff a few times now and has been asking for it ever since the first commercial. So awhile back, after seeing the commercial, I broke down and ordered it. It took forever to arrive (I think maybe it ships from the UK?) and we didn’t waste any time trying it! Although, we did waste a ton of time before I blogged about it. And I have since realized that they sell Squishy Baff at Target too. It’s by the Play-Doh in case you want to try it too. Oh and if you order it online from the website, you can’t pick the colors you want and they charge a ton for shipping. Obviously you can pick your own color at Target and there is no shipping, so Target is clearly the better option.
I was a little worried that Squishy Baff would either ruin my bathtub / plumbing or, even worse, leave L with some nasty rash or purple skin or something. Turns out, I worried for nothing. It actually works like the commercials show. We filled up the bathtub a little less than 1/2 way and added the packet. Make sure to sprinkle it evenly in the tub or it clumps together and feels totally nasty. We stirred it around in the bathtub to make it distribute evenly. After 10 or so minutes, it was a nice thick consistency. The less water you use, the thicker it gets. Makes sense right? When L was done, we poured the second packet in the bath, which dissolves the slime (for lack of a better word). It takes about 5-10 minutes to get it back to a water like state. I didn’t want L to take a bath in the “clean” water, so we drained the tub and started all over for the real bath.
We give Squishy Baff two thumbs up. L loves it and it makes for a fun activity on a rainy day! I also think that it would be fun to use it outside in a kiddie pool. I am 100% sure L would LOVE that and we plan to do it this summer. If you do try it, I will tell you to make sure to keep it in the bathtub and don’t let it splash all around the floor. It’s a pain to clean up outside of the bathtub. It’s also hard to get off skin unless you have water. Don’t even bother trying to wipe it off on a towel. It’s not going to work!! Plus, then you’d have to worry about getting it off the towel! Make sure to let me know if you try it and if you like it or not! If L and I like it, you probably will too!!
