So What Wednesday

It’s So What Wednesday over at Life After I Dew and I’m linking up! This week I am saying SO WHAT if….

    • I sometimes lie to L that things he wants to play are broken because I am tired of playing that.  “Oh, Candyland is broken, let’s play Chuttes and Ladders instead.”  Luckily he’s too little to know board games don’t get broken and then fixed hours later and doesn’t ask too many questions.
    • Sometimes I want to lose my sh*t on the neighborhood kids.  There are a few in particular that spend most of their day playing in the street.  Umm, they even set their pool up in the street.  Come on.  Where are your parents??
    • I’d like to take up running, but then I’d have to run.  I used to run and never really “liked” it.  But my butt doesn’t like ice cream either.  We’ll see.
    • I dragged L and W to Target yesterday because I was bored.  They were fine.  I was bored.
    • I need a pedicure in the worst way, but am too lazy to go get one.  Taking care of / playing with two kids all day is fine, but going to get a pedicure?  Too much work.  I realize my logic is flawed on this one.
    • I let L and his friends play with Moon Sand in the sand table outside yesterday and now my lawn is covered with Moon Sand.
    • I got up at 6am today.  I never get at 6am.  And guess what, I still haven’t gotten anything done.
    • I get stressed out by the number of good shows on tv on Tuesday nights.  My DVR is sweating it works so hard!
    • I was glad B went to bed early last night so I could watch “Gary Time” in peace and quiet.

So what are you saying so what to this week???

You should TOTALLY run! I ran before I didn’t love it either – like 12 years ago!!! Then I signed up for a 5k that is this Saturday and I HAD too! Well in 4 weeks I went from huffing and puffing a half mile to enjoying my peace and quiet while exercising (two birds one stone, I’m a multi-tasking mama!!) and can turn out over 3 miles and honestly not feel very winded. It’s been amazing! So amazing that I’m going to sign up for a 10k just to force myself to keep at it and push further. I don’t dare say it out loud, but I may even venture to a half marathon – IF it still feels fun after 7-8 miles haha! I have an amazing training schedule that I found online that tells you exactly what to do, but it’s not intervals like C25K is, which is difficult to do if you’re not at a track (IMO) or on a treadmill. Anyway, if you’re interested I can email it to you. Happy Wednesday!!!!!

I have the answer, do pedi’s for your kids too! I have a son and we do pedi’s all the time. Sometimes he wants color on his toes, sometimes not. Sometimes the kids at the Y say stuff to him, sometimes not. But it’s a great way to do your own pedi and involve the kids!

I’m a bad mom, because I made our Candyland game disappear. I simply cannot handle that game. It’s mind numbing. I’d rather skewer my eyes with red hot pokers. (Personally, I’m biding my time until the kids are old enough to learn Cribbage.)

Running: I got the Couch to 5k app on my phone, but unfortunately, it has been 90+ for, like, a month. I am not dedicated enough to run 90+ weather. I’ll stick to dorky DVDs in my air conditioned living room. (I also want to try the, “Zombies, Run!” app http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/zombies-run!/id503519713?mt=8 but it’s $8 and I’m cheap, so I haven’t bit the bullet, yet.)
