Back to School Cravebox Review

My much anticipated Back to School Cravebox finally arrived yesterday. Like the Beauty Box and the Dog Lovers Box this was a Limited Edition Box meaning you entered a drawing and if you got picked, you “won” the chance to buy the box.  Of course I had to enter to “win”.  Both L and B are going to school this fall, so I figured we couldn’t go wrong. Plus it was only like $11. That’s what, two trips to Starbucks?

There was a huge issue with the shipping of the Back to School Cravebox. Huge. I won’t get into get it all because in the end, Cravebox made it right. They gave every the box for free. Free. As in, they refunded our money. So no matter what went wrong, you can’t go wrong with a company that makes it right!

It’s here!

Like most of my other monthly subscription boxes, I peeked so I knew what was it in. Still, I was very excited to finally get my hands on it and open it!

First look

I save all these information card. For what?  Who knows.  But I have them all.  I’m pretty sure when Hoarders comes to my house, it will be something that I need to save and will through a big fit over when they throw them out.

The contents

When I first signed up, I was a tad worried the box would be too “old” for us.  But as you can see, it’s totally not.  In fact, I don’t even think you need to be in school to like the things in this box!

The info card

Now to the good part. Here is what was included in the box:
~Children’s Oral Antiseptic Spray from Halo ($12.99): Pretty sure I never even knew such a thing existed.  I should mention that the card refers to this as “childrens”, but the package recommends age 12 and up (2 and up with supervision).  It appears there is a specific children’s one, but this isn’t it. I’m not sure what the difference is between the two, but I probably won’t give this to L.  Airborne germs aren’t really his problem anyways.  I’m going to give it a try though.  Heck, why not?
~Aloe Vera Gel from Fruit of the Earth ($5.99): I’ve never used aloe for anything other than a sunburn? I’m going to try this next time L gets a cut or scrape and see if it helps at all.  I guess I’ve just never had any on hand?
~Slim Packs from Kleenex (<$1):  I don’t think I need to explain what Kleenex is used for or why we love it to anyone.
~Lunchables with Smoothie from Oscar Meyer (coupon valid up to $3.99):  I’ll admit it, L likes Lunchables and I feed them to him sometimes.  Don’t judge me.  I am bringing this coupon to the store with me next time I go and I plan on giving it to L to let him find what he sees on the coupon in the store.  It’s never too young to start couponing is it?
~Yummi Bears children’s vitamins with DHA / Omega-3 ($21.99): Vitamins are expensive, so I was very excited to see these in the box.  We will totally use them and I know L will love them.  He’s all about taking his medicine, so he’ll be all over this!
~Little Pim ($17.95):  The only Spanish L knows is from Dora, so he could probably use this in his life.  It’s nothing something I would ever buy on my own, but heck if L’s into learning Spanish, we’ll buy the whole set!
~BIC Atlantis Ball Pen ($1.64): I love pretty color pens and these will be put to use in my Erin Condren planner right away!
~BIC Atlantis Mechanical Pencil ($5.79): Is it just my house or can no one ever find a pencil when it’s needed?  Please tell me it’s not just me!

The value of this box (according to my calculations) were $71.34.  And I got it free!  Technically, it was $11, but I already explained all that above.  Even with the shipping snafu (how often do you get to use that in a sentence) and even if they didn’t end up giving everyone the box free, I would totally order another of their Limited Edition Boxes!  Right now they are having a drawing for the Book Club Limited Edition Cravebox and next up is the Coffee Lovers Cravebox. I am restraining myself from the Book Club box because I already have way too many books I need to read.  I can’t even put another book in the “too read” stack!
