I am please to report that my October PopSugar Must Have Box arrived much more quickly this month. Last month felt like it took forever. Maybe because the box was OMGsoamazing last month?
Not that this month wasn’t amazing. Because it was. If you are let down by this month I think maybe it’s because the bar was set just a tad high last month. I mean really, you don’t think that can happen every month do you? I mean, I wish it would, but I know it won’t. Either way, I am totally addicted to PopSugar Must Have boxes and get so excited when they appear in my mailbox every month. It appears that they are sticking with their “Must Have” items from various categories and I think that’s a great idea.
Unlike most of the subscription boxes that come only with a card, PopSugar’s Must Have box comes with a booklet that describes each product. I’d photograph every page, but we’d be here forever ;).
Here’s exactly what the box contained:
Must Have Fitness:
Crescent Moon ExerSocks ($9.99): I love these. I never really bought non-slip socks for myself, but I probably should have a long time ago. I slide around my kitchen and bathroom floor all the time. And now that winter is coming (ick) and I am going to be wearing socks more, it’s going to get worse. Their website says: “ExerSocks provide the hygienic solution for Barre Workouts, Yoga Practice and Mat Pilates.” Umm, okay, I guess I could use it for that too? Or just to chase the kids around and not fall on my a**.
Must Have Entertainment:
Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling ($24.50): I have not heard a thing (good or bad) about this book, but it appears that it is #1 on the best sellers list. I clearly need to get with it. I do know that this is J.K. Rowlings first adult book (she did the Harry Potter series in case you live in a hole). Although it’s not a book I’d normally read (the cover isn’t pink), I will add this to my “to read pile”. I was able to read all my US Weeklys and OK Magazines on the trip to Chicago, so it is getting smaller.
Must Have Food:
Dylan’s Candy Bar Gummy Bears ($3): I’ve never tried anything from Dylan’s Candy Bar (the owner is the daughter of Ralph Lauren), but I was happy to see these in the box. B loves gummy bears so they will be gone as soon as he lays eyes on them!
Must Have Beauty:
OPI Pink of Hearts ($17): A lot of people were guessing that the October box would have something Halloween’ish in it. And it does (the gummy bears). But since October is Breast Cancer awareness month, I thought they’d go for something along those lines. And here it is! I love these colors and cannot wait to paint my toes. And I am going to try the trick of spraying Pam on them like one of my readers suggested so they will dry faster. The crazier the idea, the better.
Must Have Home:
Red Flower Petal Topped Candle ($38): I got the spanish gardenia scent and I am not going to make any judgements on it just yet. I am just so so on it, but I also didn’t think I’d like the diffuser from the August box (because it’s a floral scent like this candle is), which I am now addicted too. My friend “W” approves of these candles, so people, that must mean they are good.
Special Extras:
Pirate’s Booty ($1): I haven’t had this stuff in forever, but I do love it! I think L might try to steal this from me because he’s into pirates and well, he likes snacks.
Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner ($5): These are sample sizes, but are on the larger size so that is good. I am excited to try this stuff because I have never used anything like this. I won’t list all the things it says it can do (you can read about that here if you want), but this could just be the answer to all my problems!
And there you have it, the October PopSugar Must Have Box. By my calculations, the box had a value of $98.49. Not too bad considering it only costs $35/month. What do you think? Not as fabulous as September (that scarf still has me smiling) for me, but I loved it and I will use (or someone in my house will) every single item. The November box is already sold out (*), but you still have time to sign up for the December box. Umm, a Christmas present for yourself? PERFECT! Click here to order. You can use “REFER5” to save $5 on your first box.
And if you already get the box, what candle scent did you get? And how much did your box weigh?? Mine weighed 4.5lbs, but I know some weighed 5.8lbs. Was there something different in those boxes? Do tell!! (**)
(*) I am going to give one away though, so you’ll still have a chance to get one!
(**) ETA: It appears that the people who had boxes weighing 5.8lbs got full size shampoos and conditioners! Phew. Mystery solved. I was losing sleep. 😉
