November Love With Food Box

I signed up for a 3-month subscription to Love With Food a few months ago when House Party Deals had, well a great deal on it. In case you aren’t familiar with it, Love With Food costs $10/month (plus shipping) and you get a box filled with 8+ gourmet samples.  Plus, for every box you buy, Love With Food donates a meal to help fight hunger.   Well my first box arrived today and I mentioned in my last post, but this box was way smaller than I expected.

The box (it ships in a USPS envelope).

After getting over my initial surprise at the size of the box, I tore right into it.

First look.

I have to admit, I was super excited about how neatly everything was packed.  I feel like a box has to be good when someone took the time to pack it up all perfectly for me!  This month, Love With Food partnered with Amy Roloff (from TLC’s Little People, Big World*) to bring “you a taste of her fall favorites.”

The information card

Here is what was inside:

Truffle Piglet from Hagensborg Chocolates: This was delicious. B opened it as soon as he laid eyes on it and we both had half. I only wish I would have eaten it before he got home. I am guessing he wished he didn’t offer to share it with me either since he kept saying on how good it was. And the best part was that it really was shaped like a pig.

Inka Corn from Inka Crops: This isn’t something I am normally into, but I am going to give it a try. It’s basically giant roasted corn, so it can’t be bad right?

Chocolate Chunk Cookie from Skeeter Snacks: Okay, I’ll admit it. B and I already ate these too. And they were delicious. They are nut-free cookies that are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They are also produced in a nut-free facility, which I am sure is amazing for people who have severe nut allergies. We don’t, but still enjoyed them. And probably would even buy them again.

Mango Pear Pineapple from Fruit.o: I am going to give this to L to try. It sounds like it’d be right up his alley (100% organic fruit with no added sugar or preservatives) and he is a complete expert on pouch food. Just ask WB. L picks what pouches we get for WB at the store!

Mini Crunch for Mrs. May’s: The information card says that these “bite-sized roasted almond and fruit crunchers are tasty salad toppers”, but I would probably just eat them alone as a little snack.

Turkey Bak Kwa Jerky from Little Red Dot Kitchen: This is going to have to be something B tries and reports back on because frankly, it scares me. It looks like a fruit leather, but the information card says it’s moist (I hate that word) and tender jerky with an Asian twist.

Original Mulling Spices Blend from Aspen Mulling Co.: The standard use for this appears to be to mix into cider, but it is also suggested that you try sprinkling it on hot oatmeal or blending it with pancake batter. I like the pancake batter idea.

Pumpkin Spice Tea from Stash Tea Company: I’m not a tea person at all, but this doesn’t sound bad.  But it’s another B item.  He’ll for sure try this!

Wow, that was a lot to review.   This month’s box includes eight snacks, which comes out to $1.25/snack.  Is it worth it?  I totally think so.  I have never heard of a single product from this box before today.  I’ve said it a million times, but my favorite part of these boxes (other than the grab bag aspect of course) is discovering products from brands I never would have found otherwise.  Want to sign up?  You can often find deals for this subscription on some of the deal sites like I did.  Or you can just click here and use code “HOLIDAY12” to save $5 off your first box.  Oh and I am not totally clear on the details since I am new at this, but they also have a point program where you can review products (and maybe do other things?) and earn points for free stuff!  Can anyone shine some light on how this works? So anyways, why not give it a try?

Disclosure: This post includes affiliate links. I believe I will get something if you sign-up, but I am not sure exactly what that would be.

(*) Did anyone watch “Little People Big World: Wedding Farm” last night on TLC? I am SHOCKED that Amy and Matt are still married. Shocked. I thought once Little People Big World was over that’d they’d be over too. So wrong of me.  I’m not getting married (again) anytime soon, but that barn looks super cool.
