November Birchbox

My November Birchbox arrived super early this month and I was both shocked and excited. And impressed. Birchbox had sent all their subscribers an e-mail earlier this month saying that, due to Hurricane Sandy (their offices / warehouses were without power and things were just nuts on the East Coast as you know), the box shipments may be delayed. I’ve gotta say, they stepped up their game this month. Big time. Not only were they on top of their shipments, this month’s boxes were great!

Okay, now on to the good stuff. I got Box #11 this month in case anyone tracks that. I believe there were 31 different box combinations this month?

Anyways, here is what was in mine:

First Look
The Information Card

~Archipelago Pomegranate Body Soap ($3.26): I am not a fan of bar soap and haven’t used any in ages. I think my main issue with bar soap is storage. It just feels so gross to leave it out. I’m not even a germ freak and I don’t like it. That said, this smells really good so I just might give it a try.

~Marula – The Leakey Collection Omega Rich Facial Oil ($3.12): I bought (and am currently trying and liking) JM Argan Oil and this seems somewhat similar, but different at the same time so I am interested in giving it a try.  Very interested. I am totally fascinated with putting oil on my skin to clear up breakouts, moisturize skin, etc. so I am all about this.

~Oscar Blandi Pronto Texture & Volume Spray ($6.25): When I saw that this was in some of the November boxes I instantly started wishing it would be in mine.  And when I saw that it was, I was thrilled.  My hair isn’t falling out anymore (can you tell I am excited about this), but it’s still thinner than it was which I hate.  This stuff gets great reviews and I am dying to try it out.

~ModelCo FIBRE LASHXTEND Lengthening Mascara ($25): Okay, so I had heard rumors that Birchbox sometimes included full-sized products in boxes, but I had never gotten one in mine.  Until now.  Yep, a full-sized mascara. I am so excited about this and that my full-sized product is mascara which, other than lip balm, is my holy grail beauty product.

~John Varvatos Artisan ($1.24): This is the only meh product in the box.  It’s a men’s cologne. WTF?  If it was just me and I wasn’t married or didn’t have a boyfriend, I’d never use it.  But I’ll “gift” like I am supposed to do (per Birchbox’s instructions) it to B and he’ll use it, so I suppose it’s all good.

All totaled, I received products totaling $38.87 in this months box.  Plus the $5 Birchbox Bucks (5 products to review = 50 points) makes my box worth $43.87.  That’s way more than the $10 I spent on the box, so I am very pleased with this months box.  I think this is the best Birchbox I have received so far!  If you are wondering what was in some of the other boxes, you can check them all out here.  In case you aren’t familiar with Birchbox, your box contains products based on your beauty profile.  Meaning not everyone gets the same products.  I thought the cupcake bath bombs they sent this month were beyond cute, but I never would have used it.

If you subscribe to Birchbox, what did you get this month?  Were you happy? And if you don’t subscribe, isn’t it about time you did?  Click here to get on the waiting list.
