November ipsy Glam Bag

Of all the monthly subscription bags / boxes I get, I’m least excited for ipsy to arrive.  It’s not because it’s not great or worth the money, because it totally is if you are into make-up.  Totally is.  But since I don’t wear make-up very often (I do love the non-make-up items they have included in previous months though), this is just too much for me (*).  I just can’t use it all up!  And the bags, oh the bags!  What does everyone do with all these bags?  I mean last month’s chevron one was totally cute and so worth it, but the other two I have gotten were just plain.  Someone clue me in on what to do with these bags?  Okay, so now that I have gotten my whining of the way, here is the review.

~theBalm Meet Matt(e) matte eyeshadow palette ($4’ish): I have never tried  any shadows from theBalm, so I am interested in seeing how this stacks up against my normal MAC / NARS stuff.  I do like the color a lot, so I was excited to see this in my bag.  I will for sure be using this.
~Starlet Intense Eyeliner ($11):  I probably use eyeliner 5x year (if that), so I am not overly into this.  It’s just not something I reach for on a daily basis.  Plus, we got one that looks better in last months bag.  But, I am going to try to step up my make-up game in an attempt to use up some products.  This will either get used by me or I will give it to L to color with.
~Nailtini Nail Lacquer in Millionaire ($13):  No matter what you can’t have enough nail polish.  I don’t know what it is, but I love it.  Love it.  I have nothing that is even close to this shade, so I was pleased to see this in the bag.  As a sidenote, when I was at the salon over the weekend, I couldn’t stop staring at the nail polish display on the wall.  I wanted to color coordinate it so badly.  I told my stylist that next year, when I there waiting for my hair to process I was going to work on it.  She was cracking up.  Too bad I’m serious.
~bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss ($9): I love this color (Dare Devil) and will use it for sure.  It fits me way better than last months gloss, so I am happy about that.  While I am not overly into make-up, I do have a large collection of lip gloss.  It’s just such a staple that I don’t even consider it to be make-up.  Kiehl’s lip balm #1 + lip gloss and you are good to go.
~Chella Defining Eyebrow Gel ($3.60): Ugh.  This month was an “either or” and you either got the Eyebrow Gel or Benefit mascara.  Of course I wanted the mascara.  I just got my eyebrows waxed and they are never all wild and crazy anyways, so I have no use for this.
~The brown bag ($2).  I’m valuing this at $2, because it’s worth something, but I just don’t feel like it’s worth a lot.  It’s not like last months cool chevron bag, but it’s not a bad little bag at all either.

All totaled, according to my calculations, the November ipsy bag was worth $38.60.  Not at all bad for the $10 price tag, so I don’t know why I’m not more excited!  If you are interested in subscribing, click here.  Not sure if they have a waiting list, but if they do, I know it’s way less time than Birchbox.  If you already get ipsy, what do you think?

(*) I bought an annual subscription or else I would cancel. #firstworldproblems

Maybe donate the bags you don’t want to L’s school. I’m sure they could find a use for them

This was my first month and I LOVED it! I received the mascara instead of the eyebrow gel. With the bags and the free Target beauty bags that I receive I put together litte gift kits. Use the extra bags and the products that you can’t use for Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, “pamper gifts” for new moms, etc. Since I won’t use the eyeliner or the brown bag I put several other samples in with it and will have that be one of the gifts o my secret santa this year (we need to wrap 12 gifts). Also would makegood stocking stuffers!

I plan on using all the items (I dont want) from here and my other subscriptions to fill xmas bags for my sisters (Among things I purchase). I figure once I get too many bags all my nieces will have plenty of fun with them! The nail polish was by far my favorite. I used to wear eyeliner religously… havent worn it for years now and if I try to I think it makes me look whorish.. lol

Oh I feel the opposite of you. I’m loving everything in the Ipsy bags and my birchbox are ok but not as wowing to me. I loved the chevron bag but I’m not sure what I’ll do with this one. Probably regift it with goodies inside or something. My little one has been grabbing it so maybe I’ll toss it in his play bin. 🙂

I happened to already have brown on my nails when this came so I threw the nailtini over it and I got rave reviews. I’ve since switched since I went to the salon but I think I’ll go back when this one wears off. 🙂 Right now I’m rocking the OPI James Bond Goldfinger. Don’t we all need gold finernails for Thanksgiving? 😉

I recently donated several of the make up bags n even purses I was never going to use to the women’s shelter. They were looking for coats and socks but I asked if those would be wanted and the director was sooo happy because most women leave with stuff for their children, if even that. So it is something to consider. Every woman enjoys a new bag and even the makeup you don’t want.
