A few monthly subscription box updates:

  • PopSugar is offering a Must Have Luxury Edition Box for the holidays.  It’s $100 and they are only selling 1,000 of them.  The details on it are basically non-existant.  Other than it’s their “indulgent Must Have box yet”.  But don’t think I let this stop me from ordering.  Nope.  I couldn’t grab my credit card fast enough.  I’m going to consider this my “big” holiday gift from B.
  • Cravebox has opened up the drawings for “The Ultimate Thanksgiving Cravebox” and  “The Holiday Spruce Up Cravebox”.  I believe they are both around $13?  I haven’t signed up for either yet, but I am thinking maybe my mom should.  Hint hint mom!
  • And if you are looking for a gift for you the guy in your life this holiday season, you can currently buy him a one month ($75) or 3-month subscription ($225) (*) to Mantry.  I bought B one.  And that takes care of his “big” gift this year!

Some kids Christmas gift questions / thoughts:

  • So L wants a watch for Christmas.  I don’t know much about watches for 4-year olds, so I am hoping someone can help.  I don’t want to get some cheap watch that is going to break in two seconds.  I mean he’s a kid, it needs to be durable.  But obviously I don’t want to get him a Tag or anything else.  Help me!
  • Can anyone tell me where to get “sturdy” stocking holders for the mantle?  I have some but they are very precarious and I don’t want them to fall on WB’s head.  Any ideas?  Something that doesn’t involve like drilling a hole on my mantle to secure them better?

Other random thoughts:

  •  I am very excited for Teen Mom 2 to be back on my tv next week.  Of course, it’s no Gary Time, but I am looking forward to listening Jenelle cry about how rough she has it because she can’t “smoke” and I am hoping beyond hope that Chelsea dyes her hair back to brown this season.  That blonde is not good.
  • Speaking of MTV, I was watching The Challenge last night and well, Zach is just a big pile of hot.  That’s it, that’s all I have to say about that show.
  •  I used to be totally addicted to Grey’s Anatomy, but I’m so over it now.  It’s just getting so unrealistic. As you know, I am currently obsessed with Breaking Bad.  A me*h making chemistry teach is much more realistic.

(*) FYI Mantry, that is not a deal. Most of the time it’s cheaper when you sign up for multiple months. Not here!

My 4 yr old has been wanting a watch too. I ended up getting him a Lego watch, the fireman one to be exact. I have no idea the quality since I couldn’t find them in stores anywhere, I think I ordered it on overstock. It looks pretty cute! I paid $17 I think and there are several different styles. It’s for christmas so it’s obv not in use yet!
Depending on what your mantle is made of, what about using Command hooks? Not all that pretty but they won’t hurt anyone if they fall. You could craft something to cover them maybe!

I just can’t do the big POPSugar box but believe me I was so tempted. LOL I’m going to be so jealous of yours.

I did sign up for both the Crave boxes. I also got the Cooking light one so it should be there when I get home.

Also saw about Mantry. My hubby is just not into the boxes as much as I am. Looks like miaybe they will be $75 from here on out and thats alittle out of my splurge for hubby gift. LOL

I got my 4 year old a watch at Stride Right. It has fire trucks on it and is really nice. I’ve been thinking about getting him a new Lego watch since they have the Lego star wars ones and hes all about star wars right now.

Sorry I’m not much help on the stocking holders. Mine are Disney and really heavy but they came from a store called Uptons that has been closed forever. LOL I just love them so I haven’t gotten any new ones.

You could get this Velcro stuff they sell it by the command hooks at target it says how much weight it holds so if you covered the entire bottom of the holder with the Velcro it could hold 20 pounds.
And a swatch watch for sure!

I got Darren a watch for Xmas, too…unfortunately, I got it a while ago and can’t remember which one. Pretty sure it was a Lego watch, though. And I made sure it was old-school analog. Because I’m a scrooge like that.

I signed up for both of the Crave boxes.

As a Grey’s replacement, I recommend Emily Owens MD. I have been watching Private Practice and stopped Grey’s for a few seasons, but it’s ending and so stressful. Emily Owens was an eh for me when I saw the previews and that it was on CW but it is so good and sort of refreshing. It is like a grown-up take on coming of age at a age when you are already supposed to be all grown but still feel like your dorky self. Just more relatable for people over age 25 than say those high school based ones. It also has all that hospital drama stuff from Grey’s.

I loved Teen Mom but have not gotten into Teen Mom 2. I just loved that messed up first cast.

My youngest is 4 and I got lucky at Target once and got him a Timex watch for $4!!! It has a digital face and has a very sturdy velcro band. Did he wear it – yeah, for about a day til he forgot! My 9 year old son got a Lego watch last Christmas and who knows where it is! My point – go ahead and get one if he wants it, but don’t blow the bank cause he might lose interest in it very quickly!!
