Unless you have been living under a rock (and maybe you wish you did live under a rock by this point), you know that today is Election Day. And like millions and millions of Americans (*), I will be out voting today. This is the first Presidential Election B has ever voted in. He was deployed to Afghanistan for the 2004 election (**) and was sent out of town during the election at the last minute in 2008. So this is it. We are heading there together to get our vote on. We have tons of proposals on the ballot in MI, so I am expecting long lines. But I don’t care. I like voting. It’s a privilege. A responsibility.
So whoever you are voting for, whatever you believe in, I hope you are getting out there today and voting! And no matter who is elected, I will support our President and hope that he steps across the aisle to work with the other side to make this country even better! I do know one thing about today though. I will be glued to the tv tonight unless the President is announced! Now what are you waiting for? GO VOTE!
(*) Does anyone know what percentage of the population actually votes? I GTS’ed and it turns out 58% of the voting-age population voted in 2008. Kinda sad huh? That other 42% better shut up if they don’t like who is elected!!
(**) I’m not even sure he knew how to get an absentee ballot?
