A Poll: Do You Have a Passport?

Disclosure: If you make a purchase through the links posted below, I may receive a small compensation. Read the full disclosure.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
I feel like nothing can top last week’s very important polls (Does Santa Wrap Presents and Have You Ever Used an Entire Bottle of Nail Polish), so I won’t even try.  Instead, I am going to go in a totally different direction and ask if you have a passport.

Most of the time I have a guess about how a poll is going to come out, but this time I am not sure at all.  On one hand I feel like every American should have a passport.  I mean why not?  You never know when you are going to win a trip to Paris and need to leave tomorrow (a girl can dream right?).  But on the other hand, I feel a lot of people probably don’t.  If you travel to destinations where you don’t technically need one or just don’t like to travel, I’m guessing you don’t have one?  But even if you don’t think you need one, you just *might* want to have one.

A few years back (back when B and I were dating), I went on a cruise with one of my girlfriends (who has since moved on to more exotic vacations).  My boss at the time, who we all loved, passed away suddenly when I was on the ship (he always used to joke about how he was going to cancel my vacations – he totally showed me.).  Passports were NOT required for the cruise, but having one allowed me to leave the ship in St. Maarten, buy a plane ticket, clear customs and make it home in time for the funeral.  No passport?  Not happening.  It can also save you if you lose / misplace your driver’s license and need picture ID for something.  Plus, we live near Canada and it’s just easier to have one.  L also has a passport and has used it a few times, while WB will be getting one soon.

Now it’s your turn, do you have a passport?  Why?  Why not?  And when was the last time you used it?  Sadly I don’t get to use mine enough, but B has lots of stamps on his.
