December BabbaBox

I think this is the 5th BabbaBox I have received and I have yet to figure out how to track it. No matter. It always arrives quite quickly (either via UPS or USPS) and I appreciate that.

BabbaBox

The December BabbaBox theme was “Royal Kingdom” and included the following:
~create: Family Crest
~create: Castle & Royal Family Playset
~explore: Royal Entertainment
~storytell: Get Well, Good Knight
~connect: Fairytale Preschool App

The information card

And the details:

create: Family Crest

create: Family Crest

The Family Crest project includes all the materials needed to make a family crest, just like the Knights used to wear when they went into battle (to identify themselves). It involves the following categories: Motor, Cognitive and Creative. I am really excited to make this with L and know that it’s something we will display in the playroom or in the basement play area.  The wood plaque is very nice and is something we will be able to keep forever. This is SO going to be a project we do over Christmas vacation.

create: Castle & Royal Family Playset

This project uses your BabbaBox, along with other provided materials, to make a Castle and Royal Family Playset.  And can I just say that I am totally in love with this project idea?  Not only do they give you an idea of what to do with your box, they give you the supplies to go along with it!  Again this project involves the following categories: Motor, Cognitive and Creative.  I think that L will be into making the “royalty” that come along with this box, but I can also see him using some of his other “guys” (Spiderman, Batman, etc.) to play with in here.

explore: Royal Entertainment

This project includes the materials needed to make “Royal Entertainment”.  I personally would refer to it as a bell bracelet!  I am not sure that L will wear this, but I imagine he will be running around the house shaking the bells.  And I know this isn’t the intent of it, but I imagine that Baxter or Buddy, will end up with bells on their collars too ;).  This project involves: Motor, Cognitive, Creative and Discovery and also includes a Medieval song download.

story: Get Well, Good Knight

One of my favorite parts of the L’s BabbaBox is always the book.  The books always fit in with the theme and L loves them. And who doesn’t love a new book?

connect: Fairytale Preschool App

connect: Fairytale Prechool

I don’t know anything about this app, but we are always into trying out new apps.  And we haven’t been disappointed with a BabbaBox app yet.  In fact, I just saw L playing Sliding Slices (the September box app) yesterday!

Mom’s Gift

Mom’s Gift: Rose Water

I’ve gotta tell you, I have never bought or used Rose Water before.  The card that came attached to it said that it was a Medieval concoction enjoyed by royalty and that you can cook with it, enjoy it in milk, etc.  I am interested in trying this for sure!

Once again, BabbaBox has hit it out of the park.  Oh and in case you don’t know, BabbaBox is a theme-based box delivered right to your door and contains fantastic monthly activities with ALL the materials for kids ages 3-6. It’s $29.99/month (free shipping), BUT you **might** be able to save 50% off your first box using the code “SWAY100”?  You’ll for sure save $10 by clicking through my link. Even though it wouldn’t start until January, it’d be a perfect holiday gift!  Think about it, it’ll cure some of that cabin fever during those LONG winter days!

Do you subscribe to BabbaBox? What do you think? What was your favorite project this month?
