As of April 2014, Stork Stack has merged with bluum.
I loved last month’s Stork Stack so much, I decided to sign up again for December. I mean, there was another coupon code, so how could I resist. If you aren’t familiar with Stork Stack, here is a description from their website: “Our lovingly curated Stacks include 5 of our favorite highest-quality products for your baby AND you.” Subscriptions are $28/month (if you sign up for a year’s subscription they will donate 3 stacks to a family in need) and they “deliver” around the 1st of every month.

The box seemed kinda empty this month, which made me a little sad. For some reason I feel like a fuller box is better. I suppose that’s not really not the case, but whatever. I do really love that Stork Stack arrives at the beginning of the month and not mid-month like the rest of the boxes!
This month’s theme was “Rock, Roll ‘n Roar”. I have to say, Stork Stack does an amazing job of sticking with the theme. It’s got to be hard, but they do awesome. I can say that I understand how every single one of these items fits in with the theme this month. I get a lot of boxes and can rarely say that!
And now, on to the good part, here’s what was inside:
~Rockabye Baby “Good Day, Good Night” 2CD Set($24.98): This CD has lullaby renditions of tons of, well, rock n’ roll songs such as “Beautiful Day” by U2, “Tonight, Tonight” by Smashing Pumpkins, “Born to Run” by Bruce Springsteen, Enter Sandman by Metallica, etc. At first I thought this was dumb, but the more I read about it, I think it’s pretty cool. I actually can’t wait to play it in the car with the kids and see what they think. I am pretty sure my car has a CD player?
~BearHands & Buddies Fleece Mittens ($12.99): I think these mittens are so cute and are perfect for the giant snowstorm I am hoping we get this winter! WB has some old mittens of L’s, but I am certain we will lose those, so having a spare pair never hurt. Plus, these are way cuter.
~EDUSHAPE Sensory Ball ($8): I was under the impression that WB (thanks to L and all his old toys) has every toy under the sun, but I guess not. I recall seeing these at Buy Buy Baby and thinking they looked cool, but never picked one up. WB is really into rolling things around, so I know he’s going to love this. And heck, L will too.
~Zubels Guitar Rattle($17): This is a hand knit and eco-friendly rattle and I am pretty sure the minute WB gets his hands on it (Santa is going to put it in his stocking), he’s going to try and eat it ;). I will tell you one thing, hand knit or not, I would never ever have paid $17 for this. I am sure it is amazing, but that’s a little spendy for me!
~Rockin’ Green Detergent 4 Loads ($1.25): I have never heard of this detergent, but from the reviews online, people seem to love it. I read the instructions and honestly, it seems like A LOT of work. You gotta run a cold rinse / wash cycle and then a hot wash cycle. Really? I want to dump in some laundry detergent, press a button and be done. I will give this stuff a try and even if it’s super fabulous, I will likely not switch from my current Honest Co.stuff. It just seems like more hassle than doing laundry should be!
The contents of this box totaled $64.23, which is well over the $28/month cost of this box (I think I had a 30% off code and only paid $19.60), so it was totally worth the money. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t have paid >$60 for this stuff, but I would have paid the $28 cost of the box!
And like with Citrus Lane, Stork Stack customizes the box to the age of your child. W(*) sent me a picture of the box her 16 month-old daughter got, which still fit the theme, but was more age appropriate.
Do you get Stork Stack? What did you think of this month? I didn’t love it at first, but the more I look at it, the happier I am! If you want to subscribe, click here.
(*) As you know, W is my fabulous big city friend. Stork Stack is one of her favorite boxes, so it must be good right?
