DIY Sprinkle Ornaments

I know I have been posting a lot of subscription box reviews this week, so if you hate all that, here’s something totally different! In my quest to figure out what L can make his “special people” for Christmas, I came across a bunch of ideas for DIY ornaments, including sprinkle ornaments.

The Supplies

While out running around tonight, I stopped by Micheal’s to pick up what I needed to try out this project. I got:
~Clear plastic ornaments
~Sprinkles
~Glitter (Not Pictured)
~Varnish

I plan on making a few of these with L tomorrow, but wanted to test one out tonight to make sure it worked you know? I wasn’t 100% sure about the varnish, how much to use, how long to let it sit, etc.

B Helped

B agreed to help and poured some a few drops of varnish in. We swirled it around so that it coated the entire ornament and let the extra drip out. I let it sit for maybe 15 minutes to try and get it sticky. And then I used a funnel to pour in the sprinkles. And what do you know, it actually worked!

The Finished Product

Next time I will let the varnish set a little longer before I put the sprinkles or glitter or whatever in it, but I am totally thrilled with how these came out and I cannot wait to do these tomorrow with Lucas. I think he’s going to love it! And some people just might be getting one for Christmas. Perfect last minute gift!
