GAP Sale Haul (and why in-store is often better than online).

Disclosure: If you make a purchase through the links posted below, I may receive a small compensation. Read the full disclosure.

Once I found out that Target wasn’t 90% off yesterday, I still wanted to get some deals. I’d been wanting to get to the GAP to check out their clearance racks, so I talked my mom and the boys into going there with me. Really my mom and L hung out (at the Apple store) while WB and I power shopped.

As luck would have it, all the clearance items were an ADDITIONAL 40% off the sale price. Score! I was hoping for an additional 20% or even 30% off, so I was thrilled to see the 40% off signs.

Here are some of the deals I found:

~Footed pjs (holiday, fleece, striped, etc.): $8.99.  Regular price: $24.95.  Online, the red “Ho, Ho, Ho” footed pjs are on sale for $18.99.  With the 25% off code GAP had yesterday, that would have brought the pjs down to $14.24 and the 2% cash back from ebates brings them down to $13.96.  Buying them in-store saved me $5/item (which quickly adds up when you buy 5 pairs).  Oh and I bought these in various sizes for future years.

~“warmest” jacket (orange): $16.79.  Regular price $65.  I debated about this for a while and finally I just went for it.  And after I got home and looked at the receipt to see exactly how much the coat was, I realized I wasn’t charged for it(*).  It seems that this coat and I were meant to be together?  I can’t find this exact coat online anymore, but a similar girls version is selling for $33.07 (after the code and ebates discounts).

~Striped Pullover Fleece (red & grey): $7.79.  The sale price online is the same as in-store ($12.99), but you’d pay $9.55 online after all is said and done.  Once again, in-store was cheaper.

~JunkFood SuperHero Hoodie: $7.19.  Regular price: $26.95.  How could I pass up a hoodie I know L is going to totally love?  All GAP’s JunkFood items are so soft I wouldn’t mind them for myself. (**)

~Waffle Knit Hoodie (Grey): $5.99. Regular price: $19.95.  I am totally obsessed with these hoodies and if you look at some of my pictures, you’ll see that L is often wearing them.  And now he’ll be wearing one again in the fall!  And for the record, I will fully admit that I would have bought these in every color, every size if they had more.  But they didn’t ;(.

~Big Brother L/S Onesie (Navy): $5.99.  Regular price: $12.95.  WB had this in 0-3 months I believe, but I loved it so much I bought another one. (**)

~First Favorites Velour One Piece: $10.18.  Regular Price: $26.95.   This isn’t something I would normally buy (not for full price anyways(***)), but it’s so soft that I just couldn’t pass it up.

~Red & White Striped Fleece Pajamas: $8.99.  Regular Price: $26.95.  These aren’t on-sale online yet and for whatever reason it doesn’t appear you can use the code and get the buy two pair at $18/each deal, so if you only wanted one pair, you’d be paying $19.81 (after coupon code and ebates).  That’s double what the in-store price was.

I bought a few more things, but you can see the trend here.  I have found that, nine times out of ten, GAP in store has better deals than GAP online.

Have you hit up the GAP after-holiday sales yet? Score any amazing deals?  Let’s hear them!

(*) No, I am not going back to try and explain that I didn’t get charged. Sorry.
(**) These aren’t online for me to do a price comparison.
(***) Who am I kidding?  I hate buying anything for full price.
