Because I can’t resist things like this, I pulled the trigger on the Birchbox Limited Edition: We Heart Collection box. I didn’t think I was getting anything for Valentine’s Day (*), so I decided to get myself something.
Birchbox describes this box as having “everything you need for a big date, a meet-up with your girlfriends, and everything in between”. And seriously, I feel like Birchbox has great taste, so how could I pass up a box of Birchbox’s favorite loves, “plus a new treat or two”?
And like all regular Birchboxes, this one came with an information card. I love the information cards in the boxes. Sometimes I just don’t feel like getting online and looking up what I am suppose to do with this stuff (I’m looking at you ipsy gel eyeliner).
And the details:
~CARGO Lip Gloss ($14): Aww, lip gloss. Can you ever have enough? I think not. It’s not sticky and isn’t some crazy color, which I appreciate. And if you ever feel like maybe you can have enough, I’ll trade you lip gloss for eyeliner ;).
~CARGO Triple Action Mascara: ($13.33) I swear, I am going to start a little chart with all my mascara reviews. I don’t think I have tried any my Cargo before, but maybe I have? Does anyone do anything like this? Is it dorky to keep a spreadsheet of products you’ve tried and your thoughts on them??
~Youngblood Mineral Primer ($6.97): Mineral make-up / primer seems to be all the rage these days. I love primer (I really do feel it works better for my skin’s fine lines and “stuff”) and think it’s totally necessary for me! I am excited to give this a go!
~stila all over shimmer liquid luminizer try-me-set ($20): These are what had me most excited to try this box. You can use these anywhere you want to “glow” or mix with your normal foundation for an all over shimmer. I hate when my face looks dull – I like a little shimmer, so I am super excited to test these out. And the three shades (pink, rose gold and bronze) can seriously be used by anyone!
~Oscar Blandi Pronto Texture & Volume Spray ($11): I loved this back when I got it in my November Birchbox and was almost running out, so it’s time for more. It really does create texture and volume and gives my hair life.
~Color Club Nail Polish (Put a Pin In It) ($8): As you know, I don’t love pale polishes (which I would consider this), but with glitter over it makes it a do for me! Not in love with a polish color or want to try something new with it. Glitter. Makes it better every time.
~Jane Tran Bobby Pin Set ($12): I am going to try and see how these will slick post my crazy post baby hair growth. If you see me walking around with a bobby pin basically on my forehead, you’ll know they work!
According to my calculations, this box has a value of $85.30. Birchbox billed it as being worth $76, which is probably more accurate. I think I am off on my mascara amount – it didn’t have a size printed on it. Either way, considering that the box only cost $36, I’d say I got a pretty sweet deal. Actually I only “paid” $26 since I used the code “BBLEARNVEST” to save $10 off my $35 purchase. And then I used my the points I have been saving and it was FREE! Did you get the Limited Edition: We Heart Collection box? What’d you think? Sadly it’s sold out now, so if you missed it, you are out of luck ;(. But if you don’t subscribe to Birchbox yet, what are you waiting for? Get signed up here!
(*) I was wrong. But I am not giving this back either.
