I received a February KnitCrate (Beginner Package) in the mail yesterday and I couldn’t wait to see what this month’s project was.
As always, I love the colorful padded envelope. I still haven’t learned to knit yet, but my mom is working on learning and then she will be teaching me. And then I will off to find Ryan Gosling and live happily ever after.
It’s hard to take a good first look picture of items in an envelope, but I thought I’d give it a go!
I love that everything is all individually wrapped because it makes it seem like you are getting a present in the mail. And who doesn’t love presents!
~The Pattern | Eleanor Scarf ($5): I tried to find this pattern online, but it seems the original seller, a cute little Etsy shop, has shut down. I totally guessed at the price, but I think $5 is fair. Once again, it’s in a protective sleeve, so you can easily save it and store it neatly. I only took a picture of the finished scarf on the pattern, but I assure you that the instructions are there.
~The Yarn | Morehouse Farm Bulky 100% Merino Wool ($36): This wool is so soft. OMG is it nice. And, what’s better, is that it is not itchy and can be worn right up against your skin. I have learned that not all yarn is created equal and this stuff is amazing. How many skeins does it take to make a big blanket? Because this yarn in a few different colors and a chevron pattern would make an amazing blanket.
~Sweet or Soothing Extra | Teeccino Herbal Coffees ($2.07): At first I thought this was tea and was like NO, NOT TEA! But, I happily realized that it was herbal coffee, which I have never tried before. It’s naturally caffeine free and non-acidic and while I am not sure why I would drink caffeine free coffee, who am I to knock it till I’ve tried it.
~Fun Extra | Hands / Tags and Lantern Moon Felt Key Chain Clutch ($20): Umm, how cute is this little clutch? I am certainly going to put it to good use. How could I not. Also the little hand made tags are adorable. Love these little fun extras!
All totaled, I came up with a value of $63.07 for the February Beginner Knit Crate. Considering that it’s $55/month (including shipping), that’s a great deal! Oops, and I forgot to include a picture of the buttons that are included to finish off the scarf. I love that everything comes all together and you have everything you need to complete the project.
