Edited to Add: Mommébox is no longer in business.
It turns out that Mommébox did end up shipping a February box and will be going to seasonal boxes from here on out. And I still kind of confused by the e-mail they sent out, but I also didn’t really read it.
Their boxes (the actual box itself) are still one of my favorites. A nice glossy box. It looks better in person.
Just from the first look alone I knew I wasn’t going to be in love with it. It looked sloppy and was just not appealing to me. I had such high hopes for Mommébox and every month I am disappointed. I mean they have a great website, great themes, great ideas, but they just don’t have things I love in the boxes.
The February Mommébox theme was Love and reminded us to enjoy each day and share with our loved ones. They suggested that you share an item (or two) from your Mommébox with a friend or loved one.
~Zymbol Hidden Meaning Necklaces: This is billed as “Interactive Personal Empowerment Jewelry” and is every single letter of the alphabet stacked on top of each other and you the personal who is wearing it can make it mean whatever they want. Some people may enjoy things like this, but it is just NOT my thing. At all.
~Blossom Organics Pure Pleasure Gel & Natural Moisturizing Lubricant: If I not not mistaken, the December Mommébox also came with some lube? Clearly they think there is a big need for this? Actually, I’m not sure what they were thinking? This just isn’t something I expect in a “mommy” box. Yeah an “adult box” for sure, but a mommy box?
~Myrtle & Flossie Organic Flower Power Soap Sample: I think Conscious Box gave out similar sized soap samples and like with that, I am not sure what I am going to do with these tiny soap samples? I am sure it’s great, but I will probably never use it.
~Myrtle & Flossie Gift Certificate ($25): I am kinda excited about checking out their online shop, however, the gift certificate has no code or anything on it? It’s an online store so it’s not like I can stick it in my computer and get credit for it? I gotta look more into this.
~KindNotes: These are super cute little note cards and envelopes. I have no idea what I will do with them, but they are adorable!
~Guylian Artisanal Belgian Chocolates: Not surprisingly, these are my favorite items from this box. I think these are in the shape of seahorses and maybe, just maybe, eating them will make it feel better about this box. Probably not though.
I didn’t even bother calculating a total on this box, because I didn’t think it was worth the $15 I paid. Individually none of the items were bad, but why did I get two of each one? I want lots of different stuff! I feel like they just threw in two of everything because not a lot of people ordered and they didn’t want to buy anything else? Totally a guess on my part. I really have no clue.
Did you get a Mommébox this month? What’d you think? If you are interested in signing up or learning more, click here. Going forward the boxes will be season (instead of monthly) and I believe they have all the themes up on their site.
