January GLOSSYBOX

This month GLOSSYBOX paired up with the man repeller to bring us all an amazing box. I’m just going to come right out and admit that I didn’t know who the man repeller was until I heard about this collaboration. And after I GTS’ed, I fell in love. Her “What is a Man Repeller” definition is hysterical.

The Box

I have never received a GLOSSYBOX before, but have heard only good things, so I couldn’t wait to open it!

The Box in the Box

If I said it about another monthly subscription box in the past, I was wrong.  This is the fanciest box out there.  It’s smooth and shiny and I’ll seriously reuse this as a giftbox.  For someone who repels men maybe?  LOL.

First Look

See, I told you it was fancy.  And look, the MR even wrote me a note ;).  LOL.

The Real First Look

I was pretty excited at first glance, although I couldn’t help but wonder what was up with that little packet.  I mean WTF.

The Information Card

The notecard from the MR opened up into the GLOSSYBOX information card. It’s one of my favorite information cards because it lists the prices and weights of the full size products which means less work for me to calculate.

Okay, now the good part. Here’s what was inside:

~Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara ($9.26): I cannot wait to try this. It’s supposed to create “audacious, false-lash effects”. I love long big lashes, so this sounds perfect. Mascara is my #1 favorite make-up item, so I was overly excited by this.

~Fresh Umbrian Clay Mattifying Serum ($5.95): This works to “neutralize acidity, purify and clarify the complexion.” I am ashamed to admit it, but I have not been using my Clarasonic this past week or so and I can totally the difference. My skin is ick. And this stuff just might help save me until I can get back on track.

~Le Métier de Beautè Replenishing Daily Solution ($19.23): Umm, that little packet I was WTF’ing about? Yeah, it’s worth almost $20. Why? Because the full size is $225. You heard me right. The card says “This rich, emollient formula protects, conditions and hydrates while it nourishes, rejuvenates and detoxifies skin, restoring a healthy suppleness to your skin”. While it sounds OMGSOAMAZING, I am so not falling in love with it. No.matter.what.

~Narciso Rodriguez for her Eau de Toilette Spray ($1.44): This is a very floral scent (to me anyways), which is totally not my thing. Although, I also said it wasn’t my thing when it came to candles and now I love floral candles, so what do I know?

~OPI “Can’t Let Go” Liquid Sand Nail Lacquer ($9): I gave away a set of OPI sand polishes in my last favorite things giveaway, so of course I love this. More than love actually!

~Sebastian Professional Potion 9 ($6.33): I think we all know what a hot mess my hair is, so when I saw this styling creme in the box, I was pumped. It says it “perfect for styling your wet or dry hair into multiple looks with flexible hold”. I hope that means it will slick that post-baby hair growth DOWN and make it stay there!!

~tarte glamazon pur performance 12-hour lipstick ($26): Umm, this is fierce. There is no better way to describe it. I fear all red lipsticks, but maybe I shouldn’t? Perhaps I just need the right place to wear it?

All totaled, I came up with a value of $77.21 for the January GLOSSYBOX. You don’t need me to tell you that it’s an amazing value considering that GLOSSYBOX is only $21/month (even less if you buy say an annual subscription). I was very impressed by the variety and quality of brands in this box and I gotta tell you, I might just add this to my monthly box rotation.

Oh and if you think this box was amazing, word on the street (actually on MUT) is that the February box is even more amazing. Want to subscribe or learn more? Click here!
