Julep Cupid’s Mystery Box Review

Julep Cupid’s Mystery Box

Soon after I signed up for a monthly Julep Maven subscription, I got an e-mail about a Cupid’s Mystery Box. For $19.99 you get $70-$200 worth of Valentine’s Day treats, PLUS a mystery holographic OR a gift code for the color of your choice. Umm, how could I resist? I couldn’t right?

The Box

I wasn’t sure if this was my first Maven box or if this was my mystery box when it arrived. For whatever reason, I haven’t gotten my Maven box that I ordered the last week in January. Seriously, everyone else who ordered after me has gotten theirs. And the tracking number they sent is like expired? Whatever. It’ll come.

First Look

Anyways, it turned out that this was the mystery box (*)! I had peeked a few mystery boxes on Instagram, but it’s always fun to get your own!

There was no information card in the box (boo), but since everything was labeled, it was easy to figure out what everything was. Here’s what all was included:

~Morgan – Bombshell ($14): This is a “frosty grape purple shimmer” and I love it. I never knew how hard it was to take (accurate) pictures of nail polish until I started getting subscription boxes.

Morgan – Bombshell

~Maria – American Beauty($14): Maria is a “shimmering platinum rose” and is quite pretty. Sometimes, with mystery boxes, you end up with all prior season crap they couldn’t sell. Obviously that is not the case here as all these colors are great!

Maria – American Beauty

~Carrie – Bombshell ($14): I’m not overly in love with pale nails on me, but I will give this “classic, cotton candy pink crème” a go in the spring. Maybe with a glitter topcoat. Everything is better with glitter.

Carrie – Bombshell

~Petra – Boho Glam ($14): It’s possible that this “cranberry magenta with silver shimmer” is my favorite color in the box. I would have totally bought this at the store and have plans to paint my nails with it tomorrow!

Petra – Boho Glam

~Lip Vernis – Camellia ($18): This is a very sheer pink and is not sticky or goopy at all. I put it on right away to try and figure out if it was a plumping gloss or not (I know Julep has some) and B caught me looking into my iPhone camera to check out the color and was all WTF. The verdict? It’s a great color. It’s not plumping. And B thinks I am nuts.

Lip Vernis – Camellia

~Free Nail Color Coupon ($14): I was excited to get a free product coupon and am planning to get one of their fun glittery polishes! I’m not 100% sure which one, but I am thinking O Canada! or America the Beautiful. It appears that it will be a battle of the countries!

Free Nail Color Coupon

When combined, I received a total of $88 in product for only $19.99. I was very happy with everything and would totally order another mystery box! Did you get a Cupid’s Mystery Box? What’d you get? I believe they still have some left, so if you haven’t bought one yet, there is still time! Or, if you’d rather just win one, don’t forget to enter my giveaway!

(*) One of them anyways. I haven’t received the one for my giveaway yet.
