Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.I’m not talking about a full face of make-up for a fancy night out, but I am curious, if you are leaving the house to run some errands or meet a friend for coffee or whatever, do you wear make-up? I don’t, but I am totally going to make more of an effort to try to and at least do something! Tinted moisturizer and mascara would be a start for sure. Sometimes I just get so busy I flat out forget!
I am totally curious to see what the results of the poll will be. I am going to go out on a limb and say that the majority of people who respond will say that yes, they do wear make-up on a daily basis. But, as usual, I really have no clue. I had no idea none of you cared about the mail situation! So go answer and tell me what’s normal!
I have acne scares and an uneven skin tone left over from when i was a teenager. I am ok leaving the house without a full face of makeup but I have to have a tinted moisturizer on at all times in order to even out my skintone.
I wish I could say that I do but I don’t. This was actually one of my New Year’s resolutions and I failed miserably…womp womp! I’ve been having some self esteem issues lately relating to the fact I got too fat for my wedding dress and I’ve got 88 days to lose enough weight to fit in it again and so one of my deals to perk me up and get me excited about me again is taking more of an effort with the way I look… I’ve been getting up early to flatiron my hair in the mornings and now I’m going to start trying to wear makeup, even if its not a full face, but I would like to start feeling good about myself again! Plus I have so much makeup that needs to be used, I would hate for it to go bad!
M-F when I’m at work, yes. After work, no. Weekends running errands, no. Weekends out with friends, yes.
I do 9 out of 10 times, but my makeup is so minimal it takes like 2 minutes: eye primer, one or two shades of eye shadow and mascara. 🙂
I was laid off at the end of November and became a stay-at-home mom overnight. I actually wear more makeup now because my mornings are not an insane rush trying to get everyone out the door by 6:45. These days we have “learn to entertain yourself ” time mid-morning (because I do believe that is a valuable skill to develop) I take that time to do my makeup. It’s fun to try new things and it makes me feel more motivated to drag my midget hermit out of the house (child HATES leaving. Always enjoys where we go, but argues non-stop until the seatbelt clicks).
My theory is that I rather look mediocre all the time (with no makeup) rather than somewhat good (with makeup) and then really bad (with no makeup). Friends that wear it all the time advised that once you start, you have to always wear it or it will be a shocking difference without to people you see all the time.
In grad school, a friend and I realized that the girls that wore makeup everyday looked shockingly tired and bad without makeup during finals. The ones that never wore makeup looked relatively the same but stressed out. (mid to late 20’s and beyond is sure not the same as those undergrad days where we all had that fresh glow that we never realized we had).
Shortly after I had my second daughter and became a stay at home mom, I found myself in PJ’s and unshowered way to many evenings when my hubby came home from work. I decided to make it part of our daily routine – shower, a little makeup, etc. Not saying that I don’t have a PJ day here and there but find that pulling myself together makes me feel better and be more productive! It doesn’t hurt in the romance dept either! 😉
I’m trying to get better about wearing makeup. I got a sample of the Naked BB Cream and I really like it so far. I don’t want heavy stuff on my face so I go for Bare Minerals when I do wear it. Sometimes I wear makeup and sometimes I don’t. Today no makeup…yesterday and tomorrow makeup. I also bought the NARS Laguna and Orgasm dual compact and I wear that with my Naked BB Cream.
I also just found out where to buy those dang Nivia Lip Butters! My CVS has them 2 for $5 and they’re all gone! I’ll try Walgreens.
You should have a “Only if I get out of my pajamas” button!
I do everyday at least a little bit. Normally a moisturizer, powder and a little blush. I also always have lipgloss on. 🙂
I work in a “sterile” room… no makeup, nail polish, perfume or lotions… so on my days off I try and do it all up. But nail polish for only a couple of days n then off again only happens for something special ..
Instead of tinted moisturizer – which can be a little sheer; or foundation – which can be a little heavy; try BB cream. There are a ton of great ones on the market, including some U.S. brands, but since they originated in Asia, that’s where I got mine. I use Skin79 brand and love it!
