I’m not super excited about this week’s question, but I’m linking up with Ashley and Neely anyway. Because, well, why not?

1. Best Valentines Day you’ve ever had?
Hmm, I am going to go with our first Valentine’s Day in our new house. B and I stayed in (I’m not sure that we have ever gone out to celebrate) and made fondue. L was just a baby (around WB’s age) and we had so much fun. We gotta do that again soon!

2. Worst Valentines Day you’ve ever had?
I cannot think of any Valentine’s Days that have been totally awful?? I do wish I had some crazy story about how some a-hole left me alone at dinner on VDay or something, but I don’t. I gotta tell you, I am beyond excited to read everyone else’s story.

3. What did you do for Valentines this year?
Let’s see. B had flowers, chocolates and a bear waiting for me on the counter (he covered all the bases), which I thought was the sweetest thing ever – I almost cried. After L got up and made heart shaped doughnuts (from a mix in one of my PopSugar boxes) and then L opened everything from his (and WB’s) Valentine’s baskets! We made shrinky dinks and watched Frankenweenie. Dinner was muffin tin meals and that’s about it! B had school, so it was just the furries and I the rest of the night. Oh, and what’d I get B you ask? Fancy booze from Caskers. I’m unclear if B took my poll, but he likes “just booze in a glass”. No rocks. Whiskey stones.

4. Best Valentines idea if you’re single?
I was single for lots of Valentine’s Days and I can’t even remember what I did? I assume I went to the bar if it was the weekend? To me, the perfect single Valentine’s Day would be spent with having dinner with friends and maybe a mani / pedi?? Or a few bottles of wine and Magic Mike? Either one works.

5. Favorite Valentines Candy?
I’m not sure that this is a Valentine’s candy, but the first thing I thought of was Ju Ju Coins. I will sometimes find these are VDay and I always snatch up a bag. I didn’t get any this year, but there’s still time. I do have some Target Clearance shopping to do this week, so I will look ;).

6. Favorite Valentines Memory from your childhood?
I hate to say this (sorry mom), but I cannot remember any Valentine’s Day’s from when I was a kid?? My parents anniversary is on Valentine’s Day and I do remember maybe eating out a few times for that? I’m not sure? I do recall in middle school when we’d get to send carnations to our friends!  That was always such a big deal and so fun.

Carnations are my fav fav flowers! I just love that you and lil L bakes!

  2. Mom

My favorite, of course, was the year we got married. No worries about not remembering any Valentines Days when you were a kid. I doubt we went out to eat because restaurants are always so busy on Valentine’s Day. I didn’t do baskets or gifts, but I’m sure we made and decorated heart shaped sugar cookies.

  3. Niki @ My Life, My Way

When hubby is home, he isn’t the really romantic type. But when he is deployed he will send me flowers. My kids are more interested in getting candy or toys than anything else right now.

I completely forgot about the carnations you could send in middle school! We did it in high school too. Although I think at that age we were always comparing the amount of flowers we got to everyone else to see how popular we were.

OMG I so miss giving carnations at school!!!
