Unless you have been living under a rock or are on a deserted island, you know that the east coast is going to get pounded with snow in the next few days. Like maybe a couple of FEET of snow. I am a tad jealous because I wouldn’t mind being snowed in at all (we are still only getting 5-7 inches) and I know L would love it, but let’s face it, it turns into a hot mess on the roads here when there is even like an inch of snow. But then again, if you’re snowed in, you don’t have to drive…

Let’s do some pros and cons shall we?

Pros:
~You can (usually) stay home from work / school. You’ll get a fun day with the kids or a day at home to get things done or just relax.
~It’s pretty. Once people start driving in it, walking on it, etc. it just gets so dirty and nasty. But at first? It’s beautiful.
~It’s a good excuse. Don’t feel like going to that meeting? Want to skip that appointment? Done. You can’t go. There’s just too much snow.
~The comradery between neighbors. During storms, power outages or whenever you are trapped at your house, you always have your neighbors. Listen, you know one of them has wine, so if you run out or get bored, head over to one of their houses!

Cons:
~The power might go out. Oh my. It’s one thing when it goes out in the summer. But in the winter when it’s cold, come on. That just sucks.
~If you have to go somewhere, it’s going to be miserable getting there.
~Cabin fever. There’s something about NOT being able to leave the house that makes you want to leave the house even more.
~The clean up. Eventually someone is going to have to do something with all that snow. in your driveway and on that sidewalk.

Still, I think I would be excited for a blizzard! We haven’t gotten that much snow in ages and I would love to see the look on L’s face if it happened! Plus, I don’t have anywhere to go, so I wouldn’t have to drive in it!

Is snow coming where you live? How much are you expecting? Are you excited or hating even the idea of it? What are your snow day plans? Have you stock piled groceries? (*) Do you want me to ask more questions?

(*) Please, please explain to me why people grab 8 loaves of bread, 6 jars of peanut butter, etc. when doing pre-storm shopping. What on earth are you going to do with all that? Seriously. And don’t even get me started about the people buying shovels at the hardware store the night before a storm. WTF did you do the other 10 times it snowed this year? I just don’t get it?
