Once again, the mailbox was filled with subscription boxes today (I love that), but we decided to open our March Barkbox first. The furries were excited to see what was inside and so was I. If you don’t already know, Barkbox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. Packages start at $29/month, $23/month for 3-months or $18/month for 6-months. You can always catch Barkbox on Groupon sometimes and I believe they’ve also been on Fab.com.
The box again seemed bigger this month than prior months. Totally fine by me and I am pretty sure that Baxter and Buddy don’t mind.
I hadn’t really peeked at any of the spoiler pictures, so I didn’t know what to expect this month. I was pleased when I opened the box and saw that it was packed full.
Barkbox didn’t have the normal information card this month (at least my box didn’t). Instead it included a note explaining that this month’s box was curated by E. Jean Carroll, Elle magazine’s witty advice columnist. And on the back was a Q & A about some the products in the box.
Here’s what was inside:
~Harry Barker Hemp Bone ($10): This bone is stuffed with eco-friendly fibers made from 100% recycle post-comsumer plastics. Am I the only who finds it amazing what they can do with recycled materials these days? This bone seems sturdy and I think it’s going to be a long time before the furries can rip this thing apart.
~Feelgood Teeny Treats – Liver Lover’s Gourmet Mix ($9.95): I can’t find these exact ones on their website, but close enough. They treats are all natural and made with limited ingredients, which is good. They actually have three ingredients (liver, oat flour and extra virgin olive oil) and I hope Baxter and Buddy love them. I really like that they are small, because L likes to pass out A LOT of treats!
~Lollycadoodle Mouse ($12.95): Lollycadoodle products are handamde in Nepal by master artisans who source their wool from local vendors. How cool is that? The furries got a Lollycadoodle snake in a Barkbox a few months ago and man, they tore that thing UP. Wool everywhere. I know that this will turn into the same kind of thing and that they will love every minute of it.
~Little Eatz Peanut Butter Cookies ($3.99): These are the first cookies that are meant for you and your dog to enjoy together. Seriously. You know that I wanted to rip into these right away and try one, but I didn’t want to eat dog treats alone, so I am going to wait for B to get home tonight so we can enjoy some together. And then I am going to talk L into having one tomorrow ;).
~Angie’s List Coupon / Bag Holder ($4): Behind the sticker on the bag is a cute little bone shaped bag holder. I am totally going to start taking this with me on walks. It’ll fit perfect in the back of L’s car and we’ll be able to clean up any messes that should happen ;). There is also a 45% off coupon code to join Angie’s List so you can find the best pooper scoopers out there, but I don’t need that. I have B!
All totaled, I came up with a value of $40.89 for the March Barkbox. If you paid $29 and just got one month it’s a deal and if you paid $18 because you got a 6-month subscription, you got an even better deal! Baxter and Buddy love Barkbox and will be mad if I ever cancel ;). Also, 10% of all Barkbox proceeds are donated to local shelters or rescues, which I love.
Do you subscribe to Barkbox? What’d you think of this month’s box? And if you want to subscribe or learn more, click here. Oh and did I mention you can use the code “RAMBLING10″ to save $10? Makes for a pretty good deal no??
