March Birchbox
March Birchbox

I received my March Birchbox today and, as always, I tore right into it. One of my friends (aka blog readers – hi Patty!) said that Birchbox is the gateway drug of subscription boxes and truer words have never been spoken. You think you are starting out with one little $10 box of samples. And then it just snowballs. But in a good way.

The Box

The March Birchbox box was the normal pink outer box with the brown box with pink lettering inside. Next month will be different though since we are going to be getting the Woman’s Health box, which should be fun!

I know some people get disappointed that they didn’t get such and such items in their Birchbox. I don’t look too closely at the other boxes (*), but I also don’t get too disappointed if I see something I like and didn’t get it. I’ll get it. Eventually.

The Information Card

The March Birchbox theme relates to March Madness and is all about getting in on the game. This month’s box is “filled with products that are worth a spot on your team—from fresh-faced newbies to veteran all-stars”. Birchbox is going to be hosting a bracket challenge of their own this month and I can’t wait to see who the winner is!

Allright, enough of all that, here’s what I got in this month’s box.

~Benefit Stay Don’t Stray Primer ($6.50): This could not come at a better time. Oddly, the last year or so of not sleeping is catching up with me and I could use something to brighten the underneath area of my eyes. In the worst way actually. Plus, I love Benefit, so this is a total score for me!

~twistband Headband ($3.17): My love for headbands is no secret, but I don’t love twistband ones like I love my lulu ones. If my hair didn’t have so much crazy stubby growth still, twistbands would work well. But I need a thicker band to tame this mess. I’m saving this and trying it in a few months. Fingers crossed it will work better!

~Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream($2.93): I can’t even tell you the last time I bought shaving cream. Water and a men’s razor works great. I actually thought that everyone used men’s razors, but I have recently heard that this is not the case. I use a Gillette Fusion or Mach3 and have for ages. Even before B. But back to the Whish Cream, it does smell delicious and I’ll try it to see what I am missing.

~Madewell for Birchbox Nail Emery Board ($5): I am super excited for this. It’s probably my favorite item in the entire box. I can always use nail files and never buy them. This is totally perfect for me and adorable too.

~Evologie Intensive Blemish Serum ($11.67): I received this in one of my February GLOSSYBOX’s, but as luck would have it, the winner of my giveaway opted for the box with this in it. Which was totally fine because I did want the snail mask, but I wanted this too. And look, I got it! My skin is looking forward to this and I am guessing I will be buying the full size soon!

All totaled, I came up with a value of $29.27. Plus the $5 in points I will get for reviewing the items and the $1 (**) I got for buying the box brings the value to $35.27. Awesome since the box only costs $10. I love seriously Birchbox and will likely always subscribe.

Do you subscribe to Birchbox? What’d you get in this month’s box? And if you don’t subscribe and want to get on the waiting list (does anyone know how long it is right now) or just want to learn more, click here!

(*) If you want to see the other boxes from this month, go here and just change the 1 at the end of the html anywhere from 2 to 37.
(**) I bought a year in advance. I don’t think you get the points when you do it month to month.
