March Dottiebox

The final box I received during my crazy mail day yesterday was Dottiebox. In case you don’t know, Dottiebox is a monthly subscription box that is meant to introduce you to “the best in handmade”. March 2013 was their first ever month and I was super excited to check it out.

The Box

Dottiebox ships via USPS and is uses a flat rate bubble envelope.  I didn’t take a picture of it because I figured you could picture that in your head.

First Look

Not only did the box look great, but, thanks to the candle, it smelled great too.  I gotta say, these small businesses sure know how to package an item.  Everything was individually wrapped and labeled and was just so cute.  I wish I would have taken more pictures, because seriously, I felt bad breaking into some of the cute packaging!

The Information Card

Dottiebox not only has an information card, but all the vendors in the box also included business cards.   The more product information, the better!

~Make It Stick: mustache nail decals ($3): Um, why didn’t I realize that people weren’t actually hand painting all these cute designs on their nails? Seriously. It never once occurred to me to google nail decals. I knew about nail stickers, but not about little decal things. I might order some chevron decals with the coupon code that came along with the decals.

~Jen Ramey Designs: Set of two – Two tone wine charms ($3): I actually don’t have a set of wine charms so I was excited to see these. It’s always clear whose glass of wine is whose. B’s is always empty. Mine has like one sip taken. OMG and I was looking in Jen Ramsey Designs shop and her “Mean Girls” wine charms are hysterical. Here’s your glass of wine slut. Thanks hooker.

~Baby Off the Hook: Coffee Cup Cozie ($8): I don’t often use a coffee cup cozie (except if they give me one when I get a coffee), but I do get annoyed when my coffee is too warm to hold.  I know, I know, it’s so sad that my hands get too warm while drinking my overpriced Starbucks.  LOL.  But now, I will have a fix!  I am going to throw this in my bag so I will have it when I need it!!!  Not only is it functional, it’s totally cute.  And, umm, it matches Starbuck’s cups.

~1love Candles: “Butt Naked” scented votive ($4.50): I can’t find this online (yet), but I can assure you that “Butt Naked” is a lovely scent and I love whatever these little “chunks” are. I am assuming they are wax chunks? I don’t believe I have every made a scent myself, so maybe someone could shed some light on this?

~Sharee Boutique: Broken Piece Hair Chalk ($8): One again, I did not even know such a thing existed. Hair chalk? Who knew. These are going to be perfect for when L has crazy hair day at school. I am always running around trying to figure out what to do. These will be perfect!

~Dottiebox Lip Balm (Pear) ($2.50): This isn’t for sale anywhere and is considered a Bonus Item. When I even see a lip balm, my lips get super dry, so I had to try this right away. It smells great and went on very smooth.

~15% off coupon from Ebe and Ash: Ebe & Ash is a Jewelry & Accessories shop that has some cute earrings. I don’t know if I will use my code, but I do think these flower earrings are adorable.

All totaled I came up with a value of $29 for the March Dottiebox.  I don’t do it with most of the subscription boxes, but I feel like for small business ones, it’s only fair to include the shipping cost in the prices of the individual items. Dottiebox is $26/month (including shipping) so not only do you get your money’s worth, you also get to discover a bunch of new small businesses!

Do you subscribe to Dottiebox?  What’d you think of this month’s box?  If you are interested in subscribing or just want to learn more, click here.  They are giving away an April on their website, so why not head over and enter?

Disclosure: I was provided with this box for review purposes. As always, all opinions are my own! No compensation was received.
