I received my much anticipated Fancy Food Box today and I couldn’t wait to tear right into it. In case you don’t know, Samplrs was taken over by Fancy and is now called the Fancy Food Box. Each Fancy Food Box includes five or more food products – anything from cookies and chocolates to teas and sauces – along with a selection of tasty recipes and pairing suggestions. It’s $47.95/month ($39 + $7.95/shipping), which is more than the Samplr was, which makes me wish I would have ordered the Samplr when I had the chance!

The Fancy Food Box comes in the same box all the other Fancy boxes do. It looks like mine had a rough ride though ;). I got a shipping notification for this box yesterday and it came this morning via FedEx Ground. Now that’s service!

I was very impressed with the first look.  The box looked nice and full and was heavy.  I believe it weighed around 8lbs?

As always, I am loving the individual information cards!  And yeah, I am adding them to my collection on subscription box information cards.  You’ll be seeing me on an episode of Hoarders in a few years crying hysterically as they try and get me to throw them out.

Now on to the best part, here’s what was inside:

~Raw Chocolate BobBons by Fine & Raw Chocolate ($8): Umm, I cannot wait to try these.  They are something I would never buy to try on my own, but I will probably end up loving them.  I mean how can you go wrong?

~Toasted Almond Biscotti by Biscotti de Vecchio ($8): I don’t normally snack on biscotti, but I do enjoy it and can’t wait to try this.  I actually am going to have one with a cup of coffee this afternoon!  I gotta try them before B gets his hands on them because he’ll have these gone in a flash.

~Serenitea by Miss Tea (Passionflower & Lavender) ($15): My feelings on tea are well known so this doesn’t do much for me.  But B is going to be thrilled.  He’s been hitting the tea hard lately and JUST mentioned we were running out.  He’s going to love this!

~The Tropical by Brooklyn Salsa Company ($7): Ohh, this sounds great!  It’s described as “bursting with sweet oranges, heirloom tomatoes, coconut milk and chilis”.  Once of the recipe cards included in the box is Macadamia Crusted Halibut Tacos and uses this in it.  We are so making these this weekend!

~Drunken Monkey Jam by The Jam Stand ($8.50):  We got the You’re My Boy BLUE-berry Jam from this company in one of B’s Mantry boxes and LOVED it, so I am certain we are going to love this too!  And one of the recipe cards is for “Drunken Monkey Pancakes”.  Yes please!

~Q Ginger and Q Kola ($2/each):  At first I thought these looked gross, but after further review I down to try them.  They are sodas made from the cleanest ingredients possible.   They are meant to enhance spirits (B will do this for sure) or to drink straight (I’ll do this).  Can Kola be better than Diet Pepsi?  We shall see.

~Chorizo Seco by Charlito’s Cocina ($16.67): This has B’s name all over it.  The picture of it on the card makes me want to vomit, but man, B is going to be all over this!  I can’t wait for him to get home from school / work to try this!

All totaled, I came up with a value of $67.17 for the March Fancy Food Box!  Way more than the $46.95 cost of the box and even more than the $21.95 that I paid since I had a $25 coupon code!  I think we will continue with the Fancy Food Box for a few more months.  If they continue to be like this month, B’s going to be thrilled!
