The Little Book Club
March The Little Book Club

Our March The Little Book Club arrived today and I was SO excited to get it. I had seen some other people’s themes and loved them all and was super anxious to see what we would get. In case you don’t know, The Little Book Club is a brand-new book club that grows with your child. It’s $24.95/month and as your child grows and develops, the books that are sent become more advanced.

The Box

The Little Book Club ships in a super cute box and comes addressed to the child you signed up for the club, not you.   WB doesn’t appreciate it (yet), but I loved getting mail as a kid!  I should mention that The Little Book Club ships via USPS Media Mail which is slower than all other types (like Priority Mail).  So if you are waiting on your package and wondering where it is, it’s coming!  Slowly!

First Look

I think I mentioned it before, but I subscribe to The Little Book Club for WB (he’s 11 months).  I figure that they both will enjoy the books this way and they won’t be too old for WB.  If L (he’s almost 5) starts to outgrow the books, I may sign him up for a separate subscription, but right now it’s working out perfect!

The Information Card

Our theme this month was “Dinosaurs”, which L was so excited about.  We had to go to the Post Office to pick up our box (*) and L and I tried to guess what the theme was the entire way home.  We didn’t guess Dinosaurs, but were thrilled it was our theme!

~“How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night?” by Jane Yolen and Mark Teague ($10.63): This is a perfect bedtime book! I love reading books about going to bed at bedtime.  Even dinosaurs have to go to bed you know?

~“Dinosaur Roar” by Paul & Henrietta Strickland ($5.27): This book is all about opposites, which is perfect for L!  He is fairly good with opposites, but ANY chance to read, learn, practice, etc. he’s up for.  He listens to stories like I can’t even believe.  He gets so into them and I love it!

~“Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs” by Sandra Boynton ($6.25):  Eeek!  We love Sandra Boynton books (who doesn’t) and we picked this book (along with one of our nightly Easter books) to read tonight.  L “read” it to WB, which about melted by heart.  Are they not the cutest?

So sweet

All totaled, The March Little Book Club “Dinosaurs” has a value of $22.15. A little shy of the $24.95/month cost of the box, but I could care less.  Plus, I used Amazon prices, which aren’t what you’d pay at your local bookstore or Target you know?  I love love love The Little Book Club and so do the kids!  Oh yeah and I don’t know how they do it, but once again, we didn’t have any of these books!!

(*) Don’t even get me started on why my mail lady wouldn’t / couldn’t deliver this to my house.
