Yuzen
Spring Yuzen Box

During my subscription box drought last week, I decided to go ahead and order Yuzen.  I’ve always wanted to try it and it was time!  In case you aren’t familiar, Yuzen is a quarterly (it used to be monthly) subscription box that sends you a little Zen for every season. It’s $26/quarter and each box includes high-quality natural and organic personal care products, healthy snacks, and lifestyle items carefully chosen from about 6 companies.

The Box

I had heard that Yuzen had great packaging and it’s totally true.  It comes in a USPS envelope, but inside is this beautiful box, all wrapped up like a present!

Yuzen is one of the best packaged boxes out there.  It’s seriously so beautiful and I was very impressed and couldn’t wait to dig into it all!

The information card (continued on the back)

And I was excited to see they had an information card inside.  This is going to make me seem like a total hoarder, but I save all my information cards.  Don’t judge me.  Yuzen also has a great section section on their website that gives details on all the products in the box and links you to them online!

Here are the details on the box:

~Red Flower Italian Blood Orange Little Flower Candle ($14): This is what totally sucked me into this Yuzen box. I received a Red Flower candle in my October PopSugar box and I loved it. This is a different scent, but I love it even more. And those matches?  OMG, they are the same scent and color.  LOVE.

~Spa Technologies Marine Repair Creme ($16.94): Ohh, this sounds amazing. It’s “an anti-aging moisturizer that’s rich with skin-firming seaweed extracts, antioxidants, and DNA-repairing enzymes” and I fear I will be addicted. I’ve never tried anything from this brand and can’t wait to try this.

~Kneipp Deep Sleep Mineral Bath Salts ($5): I’m not a big bath person, but I bet B will use this. Heck, maybe tonight? It’s his last night of Spring Break and he’s gotta get a little more relaxing in. B’s BodyMedia monitor actually tracks his sleep, so it will be interesting to see if this give him “a deep, restorative sleep” like it promises.

~Naturopathica Oat Facial Polish ($20): Spring Yuzen boxes that were shipped prior to 2/26 received the Expresso Body Scrub, which I would have loved to try, but I am happy with this as well. I just finished up my Benefit Polish, so it’s kinda perfect timing.

~Essence of Vali Eau de Parfum ($.60): I like the scent of this more than I thought I would, but I don’t love it.  I totally don’t love it more than my new favorite. I do wish that all perfume samples had little sprayers on them (this one doesn’t). I feel like you get a way better idea of what it will smell like when you can spray it.

~Juara Avocado Banana Moisture Mask ($5.33): I am trying this asap. Like tonight. It’s no secret I am obsessed with avocados and bananas are pretty good too, so this has me super excited. I don’t really have a good face mask that I love and really would like to try one, so maybe this will be it!

~Jane Iredale’s Lip Treatments ($12): Okay, these are adorable. They aren’t super tinted, which is good for me and everyone really because you can do a lot of different things with them. I wasn’t sure how to value them since they don’t have a size, but I am guessing they are 1/4 of a normal size so I went with $4/each.

~Nova Nova Chocolate Truffle Hearts ($4): Can you ever go wrong with putting truffles in a subscription box? I think not. Of course I can’t wait to try these!

All totaled, I came up with a value of $77.87 for the Spring Yuzen Box.  The box itself is $26/month and, so this is certainly a great deal.  If you subscribe anytime between now and the end of April, you can still receive this box.  The Summer box will be shipped in May.

Did you receive the Spring Yuzen box?  What’d you think?  And if you don’t subscribe and want to learn more, check out previous boxes or sign up, click here.
