April Tyler Florence Fancy Box

I have been waiting for the Tyler Florence Fancy Box for what seems like forever and it finally arrived today! I don’t know what it is with Fancy Box and their celebrity curated boxes, but they always seem to be behind. It makes no sense to me, but whatever.

The Box

As always, I LOVE the Fancy Boxes. Is it weird that I get excited to see what color they will send me?  So far I have seen green, blue and red (my favorite).  Are there any others?

First Look

I totally peeked at some spoilers yesterday, but I was still very excited to open my box and check everything out.  And I think Tyler Florence is hot.

The Information Cards

Just like I love Fancy’s boxes, I also love their information cards.  The back has notes from Tyler Florence describing the products and why he enjoys them.  I also noticed that he has an actual account on Fancy, so it makes me feel like he really did have curate this box as opposed to one of his people.

~Tyler Florence Fresh ($35): I know it’s valued at like $20 on Amazon, but this is a SIGNED copy of his book!!!! He offers signed books on his website for $35, so $35 it is for this! I do not own any of his books and browsed through this a little and it looks great. The idea is to use easy-to-find ingredients to work together in unexpected ways (i.e. fresh basil makes for a delicious ice cream paired with honey, balsamic vinegar, and sliced figs). B is going to love this even more than I do and I can’t wait to see what he makes first from it. And the fact that it’s signed (maybe that’s why the box was delayed) makes it even cooler!

~DCI Meat Tenderizer ($10): I don’t know that I have thought wow, I need to pound my meat (LOL), but then again I don’t even really cook so what do I know? Hopefully one of the recipes in Tyler’s book calls for pounded meat because this looks super fun!

~Pluck Sunny Side Out by Quirky ($12.99): It took me a minute to figure out exactly what this was for, but basically, it’s used to pluck the yolk out of an egg! I am testing this out tonight when B gets home (he’ll want to play too). B’s mom brought us a bunch of farm fresh eggs, so we have plenty to experiment with. As a side note, the eggs are different colors. Brown, blue, green, etc. Being the non-farm girl I am, I immediately asked if the chickens were special colors as well. They are not ;).

Sunny Side Out

~SPARQ Whiskey Stones ($19.50): I don’t think you can go wrong with whiskey stones can you? They are made from soapstone and can be used for whiskey, coffee or even wine. Can wait for that bottle to chill? Now you don’t have too!! Love it!

SPARQ Whiskey Stones

All totaled, I came up with a value of $77.49 for the April Tyler Florence Fancy Box! I used a $25 off coupon to buy the box, so I paid only $21.95, which is a complete steal! I’m not 100% sure I would ever pay $46.95 for a Fancy Box, but they always have coupons, so you really don’t have too!

Did you get a Tyler Florence Fancy Box? What’d you think of the box? Thinking of ordering? Click here and get on it! Right now you can use the code: “20OFF14” to save $20 on your first box! I used it last night to order next month’s box! If you can’t find the Fancy Box you are looking for, I suggest just doing search for “Fancy Box“. It’s much easier than trying to navigate their site!
