The Little Book Club
The Little Book Club – Birds

Much to my surprise, my The Little Book Club shipment came today.  They are still running a little behind (this was April’s), but I’m cool with it.  I was actually expecting Birchbox (which didn’t come), so I was really excited to see this!  In case you don’t know, The Little Book Club is a brand-new book club that grows with your child. It’s $24.95/month and as your child grows and develops, the books that are sent become more advanced.

The Box

The Little Book Club ships via USPS Media Mail, which is fairly slow.  I didn’t get an e-mail this month when they shipped, but I feel like it was last week sometime?  Oh, and unlike last month, my mail lady left this on my porch and did not make me go to the Post Office to get it.  I guess that package theft ring in my neighborhood has been broken up?

First Look

I felt like something was different with the first look this month so I went back and looked at last month.  And instead of the foam wrap they used the last two months, it’s bubble wrap this month.  I didn’t recognize any of the books from the first look, so I was very excited!

The Information Card

I’ve mentioned it before, but I get The Little Book Club for WB. This way both boys can enjoy the items and it’ll take longer to “age out” of the subscription.  Our theme this month is “Birds” which is perfect for Spring!  Here’s what was included:

~“Make Way for Ducklings” by Robert McCloskey ($7.19): I remember reading this book when I was in school, but we don’t have it in our collection.  I am SO excited to read this to the kids and hope it’s something that they love as well!!

“Make Way for Ducklings” by Robert McCloskey

~“In My Tree” by Lorena Siminovish ($8.09): I want to say that this author / series showed in a some Citrus Lane boxes a while back, but I never got one.  So of course, I was excited to see it!  This is a book that L and WB can read together.  L is going to love making WB giggle with the little owl puppet!

“In My Tree” by Lorena Siminovish

~“Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus” by Mo Williams ($13.11): I am cracking up because I saw this at Target today and wanted to buy it, but didn’t.  And here it is!  This entire series looks super cute and I can’t wait to read it!!!

“Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus” by Mo Williams

All totaled, my April The Little Book Club had a total value of $28.39, which is more than the $24.95 cost!  And I used Amazon prices, not suggested retail prices, so that’s a deal any way you slice it.  I love this subscription(*) and will be keeping it for a long time!
