B’s Birchbox Man was scheduled to arrive yesterday, but for whatever reason, didn’t turn up until today. I love when I track it on my Posted app and it does from “0” days to expected delivery to “?”. It’s like we don’t know what happened either, sorry. It’ll come eventually, so I don’t worry about it anymore.
I thought Birchbox Man might do a special box because May is their 1st birthday (Happy Birthday Birchbox Man), but it was the same box they always use. Same outer box too (so I skipped that picture this month).
I’ve seen a few reviews for the May Birchbox Manbox, but I am always excited to check it out for myself and see the sizes of all the products. This month I knew exactly what was in the box (I looked at the spoilers because it was their anniversary), but sometimes I actually don’t!
The May Birchbox Man theme is “All Grown Up” and this month’s shipment is dedicated to being a grown-up, “with all its attendant responsibilities and perks”. Here’s what it included:
~Bread & Boxers Boxer Briefs ($18): B is going to love these!! The box options were either the boxer briefs and shoelaces or the belt and no show socks. I was totally hoping to get the boxers even though the belt is more valuable. And I am guessing these boxer briefs are really something. $18/pair? I’m going to have to save up my Birchbox points!
~Benjo’s Shoelaces($8): So while I think B would wear these, he does not have any tie dress shoes. He got some shoelaces in the Men’s PopSugar Luxury Box and hasn’t been able to use those yet either. I am going to make sure his next work shoes are tie shoes (is there a fancy name for these?) so he can wear all these fancy shoelaces he has!
~Billy Jealousy Sake Bomb Body Moisturizer($2.25): Umm, pretty sure I love the name of this lotion. I’m not going to lie, it kind of makes me want to go to Benihana and have those guys make my food in front of me and drink, well, some sake!! But in all seriousness, this lotion smells good and doesn’t leave any greasy residue.
~Marvis Toothpaste ($1.40): I thought B had received this before, but after doing a search, it appears he didn’t. It’s possible I have always just wantedB to receive this because I like the packaging so much. B will totally use this and he could even end up ordering more!
~COOLA Classic SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturizer for Face($4.33): I love moisturizer with SPF in it and I don’t know if B does, but he should. It’s one less step in your morning routine, which totally helps. Skip your moistuizer and just use this!
All totaled, B’s May Birchbox Man had a value of $33.98, (NOT including points for doing reviews and purchasing the box itself – which would bring the value up to $40.98), which was, as always, way more than the $20 price tag. We totally love Birchbox Man and B looks forward to receiving this box every month. Plus, all of the items in this month’s box will get used (just like last month), which is always key!

I am kind of irritated about this month’s box. :/ It is only my husband’s second, and when I looked online, I thought, “omg, he is going to love it!” But of course, he got white boxers, even though the envelope label says black. He hates white. He also got the only box with hair stuff that he will never use, since he just shaved his head. I guess I didn’t update his profile fast enough… Mainly, I’m a little annoyed, because even though he would have liked the box if it had been black boxers… Did you compare the values? The boxes with the belt also had 2 pairs of socks and the lifestyle items were worth $60! Our lifestyle items are only worth $26. It just seems like they would have at least done 2 boxers or something. Sorry for the rant, just a bit annoyed.
I love your blog/reviews btw! (:
My husband got the belt and socks. The socks are good, but the belt is huge! There were at least 6 extra inches of overlap when he put it on.
I love the belt and socks that we got! I really wish that our birchboxes came with something like that but ours is cheaper so that might be why. Either way, this one was my favorite of the ones we’ve gotten.
What is this posted app?!
Mine got the white boxes…not practical, but he’ll use them. After looking at the vatiations he did week since he got a good sample size of Clark’s Botanicals which the full size is $115!!! He also got the Moltin Brown body wash, toothpaste and shoe laces.
Why do men get such awesome boxes? Boooooo….
My husband totally dug this month’s box. He’s a big boxer brief kind of guy, so as soon as he pulled out his pair, he immediately ran to the bathroom, took a shower, and put them on. His shoelaces were orange, and he put them on his work boots that night. They’re still on, so I guess he likes them! The other products were definitely his style, so we give two thumbs up! (And I’m really glad he didn’t get the belt; he has so many, it probably would have never gotten worn.)
Thanks for the reviews ladies, I was wondering to what to get my son for his birthday and just ordered the 3mo subscription for him. I think he’ll love it.
