Crafter’s Crate is a monthly subscription box that delivers hand-picked crafts and activities made for girls. It’s $19.99/month and is billed for girls ages 5-12. Sure I don’t have any little girls, but that’s not going to stop me from doing a review!
Crafter’s Crate ships via USPS Priority Mail and it comes in a plain brown box, which their signature elephant on it.
The May Crafter’s Crate theme is “Pretty in Pink” and each of the projects have “pink” in them. Does anyone not like pink? B likes it, I like it, L likes it and I am sure WB likes it too.
Each project packet comes with individual instructions, but there is also a grownup instruction card which includes discussion points, teachable moments, and reasons why the projects were selected for the craft. The idea is not just to make crafts with your daughter, but to teach and encourage! The projects this month were as follows:
~Parachute Power:
The first project is Parachute Power and includes all the items you need to make a parachute. While making the parachute, Crafters Crate suggests experimenting with the parachute to make it fall straighter, faster, etc.
~Button Ring:
The button ring project is exactly what it sounds like – making a ring out of buttons. Pinterest has tons of button projects and I have a huge collection of buttons, yet I never seem to do projects like this on my own? This project is cute and easy, but may not be something you’d think of on your own!
~Elephant Pillow:
When I first saw this elephant I knew right away it was a project for ME. Yes me. I am going to try and sew it using my sewing machine!!! Eeek! I am so excited I can’t even stand it. It’s going to be the coolest elephant ever. Look for a picture on Instagram soon!
~Candy Suckers:
Have you ever made candy suckers? If not, you are totally missing out. They are SO cool to make and I think L and I are going to make them tomorrow! The candy looks so pretty all melted and fused back together and of course, who doesn’t like jolly ranchers?
~Pretty Purse:
The final project includes all the materials you need to make a pretty purse! It’s so cute because it comes with a pattern and everything! Crafter’s Crate suggests using this project as an opportunity to prepare your daughter to be responsible for her purse and the items she elects to keep in it! This is a great lesson as I think we all know how hard it is to keep track of that thing sometimes….

This crate looks awesome! I like that they include discussion points to make it more than a craft- they make it a bonding experience. Can’t wait to see the finished elephant pillow!
