My May GLOSSYBOX arrived while I was up-north over the weekend, and, as always, I was excited to see it. I briefly recalled reading some spoilers for it, but I couldn’t remember for the life of me what they had said, so this was a total surprise!
GLOSSYBOX ships via USPS and while they often ship late in the month (I think they are suppose to ship mid-month), I don’t mind. I get such a flood of boxes mid-month that it’s nice to get some later in the month you know? Makes my mailbox feel less alone.
When you first open up the outer GLOSSYBOX, you see the GLOSSYBOX Mag. It’s a cute little magazine that has fashion, beauty, etc. It’s quite cute and I don’t think I mention it enough in my reviews.
I say this every month, but I love the actually GLOSSYBOX box. I have used every single one of my boxes for gift boxes and am always excited to get more.
I didn’t recognize the majority of the products in the box, which made me happy. You know how I enjoy trying new products and feel like that’s the best part about subscription boxes, so I was excited.
May is GLOSSYBOX‘s first birthday, so of course, the May GLOSSYBOX theme is “A Year of Beauty”. GLOSSYBOX put together a special collection of treats this month that embrace their past, as well as their future, with a fun nod to their hometown of New York City. Here is what I received in my box:
~AMOREPACIFIC Color Control Cushion Compact ($8): I wasn’t sure about this color at first (I got “Almond Blush – 106), but I tested it out and it’s actually quite nice! You apply this with the included sponge and it goes on nicely. It’s a CC (Color Control) cream. But in a compact!
~etre belle Collagen & Aloe Vera Hydro Mask ($3.95): I love love love when I gets masks in subscription boxes. I never buy them for myself, so when I get them it’s a total treat. This mask promises to improve elasticity and promote hydration, two things I totally need. I am using this before bedtime tonight!
~European Wax Center (Slow it Body Wash x2) ($0.68): The information card notes that you would receive 2 of the 3 packets listed on the card (The Exfoliate, Slow it Body Wash & Slow it Body Lotion). I happened to get two of the same packets, but I’m okay with that. I mean, it’s not like they are huge samples and I am missing out you know? The box also came with a coupon for a free wax at European Wax Center, but umm, since the closest one to me is over 200 miles away, I won’t be using that. I appreciate coupons and all, but ones I can’t use are useless, so I am not including it in the value.
~My Prime Multi-Purpose Mattifying Moisturizer ($11.33): I received this in a Birchbox (?) a few months ago and really enjoyed it, so I was happy to see it again. It’s a moisturizer and a primer in one and really works.
~Nicka K New York Absolute! Perfume Stick (LUX 369)($14.99): I have never heard of this brand before, but I have been loving solid perfumes, so I was thrilled to check it out. I got the LUX 369 scent which is described as “A graceful scent that evokes white floral notes with an underlying refreshing hint of sweet citrus, Lux 369 is flirty, airy and delicate.” It’s not overly strong and I really like it. Totally putting his in my purse!
~Sebastian Professional Volupt Spray ($6.69): This spray is designed to give you extra volume and softness, two things I could totally use. My hair is flat. Not exactly dull, but flat. Hopefully this can work to give it a little something!
All totaled, I came up with a value of $45.64 for my May GLOSSYBOX! The box itself is $21/month, so that’s a great deal! I don’t know what took me so long to hop on the GLOSSYBOX train, but I’m staying!
Did you get a May GLOSSYBOX this month. What’d you think of the box? And, OMG, did you read about next month’s collaboration with It-Girl Dallas Shaw? So far we know that we are getting a Tarte Complexation Enhancing Lipstick ($14.99), a sample from Oscar de la Renta’s Essential Luxuries fragrance collection and one of six nail colors from Bondi New York ($12.50) (not anymore) along with some other surprises that haven’t been announced yet. The theme is “American Beauty” and I can’t wait (the box itself, which you can check out here is ADORABLE)!!
