The Goodies Co.
May Goodies Co.

Everyone who had gotten their May Goodies Co. box already or looked at the spoilers were saying how great this month’s box was, so when it arrived in the mail today, I couldn’t help but open it.

The Box

Goodies Co. ships via FedEx Smart Post and to be honest, I wasn’t even annoyed with it this month.  In fact, I was kind of hoping it wouldn’t arrive until tomorrow because I knew once I got it I would want to review it right away.

First Look

The May Goodies Co. box was PACKED full!  OMG, I was totally impressed.  And it was heavy.  If I were to ship this exact box to someone, it would cost me more than the $7 I paid for the box.  I don’t know how they do it, but it’s fair to say WalMart gets an INSANE deal on shipping from FedEx.

Sadly, The Goodies Co. has done away with their information cards, which I suspect has something to do with the differences in the boxes they have now.  I got Box #4 this month.  I’m not sure how many different box combinations they had this month, but I think it was more than 7?  Here’s what was included in Box #4:

~Zico – Coconut Water: My account online said I got Chocolate Coconut Water, but this looks like plain old coconut water to me.  To be honest, I have tried coconut water and I am NOT a fan.  Does anyone know if there is something I can mix this with to make it yummy?

~Beanitos – Nacho Cheese, White Bean Chips: These look great!!  I love when box companies send chip samples.  I don’t like committing to a big bag of chips I’ve never tried before, so these are perfect.  I look forward to trying these!

~Numi – Organic Moroccan Mint Tea: Ahhh, tea.  You know how I feel about tea.  And if you don’t, well, it’s not good.  B likes tea though, so I will put this by his work stuff and off it will go.  He not only likes tea, he loves it!

~Bronco Bob’s – Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce: I had to google to figure out what one does with this and it turns out you can use it for grilling, dipping and appetizers.  I am certain B will use it for grilling.  Now that he’s home for dinner every night (which is amazing by the way), there is going to be a lot of grilling going on!

~Sour Power Straws – Strawberry & Sour Power Straws – Sortz: L would like to thank whoever selected these for the box.  He LOVES them!  Loves them.  And I’m not going to lie, I enjoyed them as well ;).

~California Olive Ranch – Olive Oil: I’ve tried a bunch of new olive oils lately and I gotta tell you, I like them all.  TOTALLY weird, but it never occurred to me that olive oil is actually made from olives.  Don’t even ask what I thought it was made from. I have no idea.

~SuperSeedz – Sea Salt: Sea Salt pumpkin seeds?  I don’t see what the problem with these could be!  I love cooking (okay eating) seeds after we carve pumpkins, but I never think to buy them any other time of the year.

~Wholly Guacamole Product Coupon & Chip Clip: FREE guacamole and a chip clip?  This may be my favorite item ever from Goodies Co!  I love guac and somehow chip clips disappear from my house quite often.  This is awesome!

As always, I loved this month’s Goodies Co.  If you don’t get Goodies Co., you should totally consider it!  It’s $7/month and and includes “5-8 delicious new foods hand-picked and delivered directly to your doorstep”.   All this for $7?  Can you really go wrong?  And like I said last month, I’d even pay $7.50/month if we could get the information card back ;) .

Did you get a Goodies box this month?  What’d you think?  What box number did you get and what was inside.  If you are interested in signing up or just want to learn more, click here.  And use the code “SKIPTHELINE” to bypass the waiting list!

I loved this box, such a bargain. It’s hard to believe you get all of this for $7. My favorite subscription box. How do you know what number box you got? My items are the same, except for a couple of the flavors.

  2. Katelyn Pelletier

All of these items look so tasty! Try mixing the coconut water with some pineapple juice and ice it gives it a nice tropical drink feel! Might have to start subscribing to this after seeing all of your good reviews!

The coconut water can be used in smoothies for a little extra hydration/liquid. I love coconut water but I don’t love the Zico brand. You can also use it in cocktails (pinterest or google that).

Side note: the Super Seedz are based out of my hometown here in CT. I don’t know if she makes them here (probably not anymore), but she started selling them super locally and at all our farmers markets.

Me again. I got my Goodies box…Monday…and when I took it out of my mail box I was stunned how freaking heavy it was. I’m like…what in the hell is in here. Hello coconut water. I too hate that stuff but I really appreciated them giving us such a large item even if I don’t want it. I did try it even though my husband kept reiterating I hated coconut water. I was hoping to prove him wrong…nope. I read adding chocolate or maybe they mean chocolate syrup makes it better. The pumpkin seeds were delicious…but my favorite was the beanitos chips. I got the plain salted ones and I LOVED them. Two salty thumbs up!

I am not a HUGE fan of coconut water by it self but I do like it in a smoothie with frozen bananas and other frozen fruits and greek yogurt

  6. Crystal D

I got the same box as you! This was my first one and I LOVED it!!! I HATE coconut water so thats getting passed on. It says I got chocolate online as well. Just the thought of chocolate coconut water totally grosses me out. I am most excited to try that Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce!!!

  7. Mikkii

I subscribed to Goodies, but won’t be getting my first box until towards the end of June according to the email that I got *insert sadness face here*
As for the coconut water, it works great in smoothies and homemade babyfood purees 🙂

  8. Jackie

I completely agree with you on the coconut water, blech! One brand’s slogan is something like “it’s like sticking a straw into a coconut.” I think not. It’s possible I just want it to taste like a pina colada and that ain’t happening. I’d love to hear people’s suggestions for what to do with that dirty water! 😉

  9. Jenny

Got the same box as you did and LOVED it. It was my first Goodies and it will not certainly NOT be the last. The guacamole coupon is the best thing in the whole box. I will certainly be using it this weekend!

  10. mary m

    Umm….how do I know which box # I got??

The difference between yours and mine are: different flavored chips (I got blackbean ), different sauce (mango chipotle), different flavored straws (blue raspberry, pink lemondade).

Also I was “supposed” to get the chocolate coconut water, but got regular as well.

I think you can blend it in smoothies? I’ve never tried it before

  11. Elizabeth

I’m not sure what box we got, but it was basically the same items with a few different flavors in there. I LOVE coconut water and it’s not cheap so I was really excited to get it in my box. Have your kids tried it? My three year old loves it!

  12. tina

I got the same box…when I got mine and saw how heavy it was…I tore into it..LOVED everything in it minus the coconut water (still sitting in my kitchen don’t know what to do with it)…we were having movie night so guess what we did?!…tried all the goodies…yum

  13. Robyn

My husband used some of our coconut water in a batch of baked brown rice. It was a nice addition to the rice for sure, adding a bit of sweet to the nutty quality of the rice.

  14. Kirstin

I got box #4 as well. I too was wondering about what to mix coconut water with. I’ve tried it before and I really can’t stand it. The chocolate coconut water I didn’t find that great either. I was really glad to see the wholly guacamole coupon in their….I love it!

  15. carol

Dam I wish I had ordered it but I hedged on it lol but I just ordered a three month one so I hope its as good as this one.. Keep up the good work because you are pretty much the only blog I read !!!!

I got my goodies box yesterday too. It was my first & I was super excited. Love sour straws – I hope I have some left after my boys got ahold of them! My box had the mango chipotle sauce. It is great spread over cream cheese & served with chips. I got the sea salt beanitos so we used those. Pita chips are good with it too.

  17. Mary Q.

Love this box too. Anything with candy is a winner in my books! My boyfriend got the same box as you and I can’t wait to try them with him when I go see him. Mine was missing the pumpkin seeds! Gotta email customer service about that…

Hah looks like a lot of us are in the same boat when it comes to coconut water. The flavor is too strong for me so I will definitely try mixing it with other flavors as suggested. It’s too bad we don’t like it more because it is pretty amazing stuff and I learned that you can actually survive on coconuts alone (between drinking the water and eating the flesh). 18. Mrs. L

This sounds like a monthly box I’d like. Off to join!

  19. Mrs. L

Just signed up! Will be getting the June box hopefully. Thank you for the skip code! (and yes, you are such an enabler!)

  20. Alex

Bronco Bob’s is seriously THE BEST! I live in Texas part time and when I go home to the midwest, I bring home bottles and bottles of this. It’s addicting…and amazing with cream cheese and on burgers. May have to try this box. Looks pretty incredible

  21. Danielle

I got the exact same box. I don’t love coconut water, but I had a mango coconut water and it was good! Maybe mix some mango (or other tropical fruit) puree into the coconut water?

  22. Jennifer

I am not sure if you get credit or not, but I just signed up under your link. And that $100 list I made earlier…would be nice if I quit adding subs and axed a couple I already have….popsugar is $35!!!! I am at $142 now!
