May Julep Maven Box – It Girl

Along with a zillion others, my May Julep Maven box arrived yesterday. Although I knew exactly what was in it, it was one of the ones I opened first.  I like to check out the polishes in person right away!

The Box

One of these months I am going to win the Golden Box or whatever they call it.  I feel like if I subscribe long enough, it’s bound to happen!

First Look

As always, I love the Julep packaging.  It’s always the same box, but the inside materials always coordinate with the theme!

The Information Card

I had mixed feelings about the May Julep Maven box.  While I liked (okay loved) the colors and the “Set the Stage” theme, I felt like it would have been a better fit for like January or February.  It kinda all reminds me of Old Hollywood, the Oscars, etc.

~Julep Clara ($14): Clara is a opaque peach creme and is unlike any color I have.  I gotta get some self tanner on to make this color look even better!

~Julep Coco: Coco is a oxblood crème and I am obsessed with it.  I love super dark polishes and want it to be fall so I can put this on.  I mean, I can use it now, but I like darker colors in the fall.  I’ve had enough of winter here and dark colors remind me of the cold!

~Julep Paris ($14): Paris is a multidimensional holographic glitter top coat and is the entire reason I got the It Girl box.  It’s so pretty and will make any polish that I think is just meh a total winner!  LOVE this.  LOVE.

~Julep Flower Bobby Pins ($5 – est.): This month’s extra item is flowered bobby pins. I am kinda just meh on them but if i had a little girl, I think I’d be way more excited!!!  They are super cute, but just not me you know?

All totaled, my May Julep Maven “It Girl” box had a value of $47.  I paid only $19.99 for the box, so it’s a great deal as always.  Listen, I am guilty of purchasing one polish that costs more than $19.99, so this is a good box for me ;).

Did you get the May Julep Maven box?  Which Maven profile did you get this month?  And, if you live in Seattle or the surrounding area, have you ever been to a Julep Parlor?  I totally want to go one day!  If you are interested in signing up for Julep or just want to learn more, click here.  And don’t forget to use code “FREEBOX” to get your first box free!  You just pay shipping of $3.95!!!
