Of all the boxes I received while I was on vacation, I was most looking forward to getting home and opening my May PopSugar Box. I mean, sure I knew exactly what was in it, but I still was anxious to get my hands on it!
The box looked like the regular old PopSugar boxes. Nothing different. However, this month some boxes shipped FedEx Smart Post (like normal) and some shipped FedEx Ground. I thought at first the FedEx Ground meant that those boxes would have the clutches you could win this month in them, but then a few people who received their boxes via FedEx Ground didn’t get clutches, so there was that. But I still felt like something was up with the different shipping method you know……………….
So the first look looked just like normal right? Nothing funny here. Or is there?
So when I removed the information booklet, I noticed a weird little card underneath the tissue. I mean I knew exactly what was in the box, so I knew it was odd. I carefully removed the next layer of tissue and what did I see? EEEEEEK, the Clare Vivier Foldover Clutch!! I couldn’t believe I really got one and couldn’t wait to see B. And he just stared at me like I was nuts. I mean you should see our house. It’s trashed. Mail and packages and suitcases everywhere. And I need to stop everything B was up to so I could tell him about this!!!
Of course, I knew what was in the box, but that didn’t stop me from being super excited about everything I saw! I was thrilled to see that I got the hat in black, because that’s what I wanted.
The May PopSugar Must Have Box was all about kicking the party season into high gear! And I feel like the selection of items really fits with the theme. One day I will take pictures and make a collage of all the pages in the booklet. That day is not today though.
Must Have Beauty:
~beautyblender Set ($23.95): I have a beauty blender and I love it. When people used to say how amazing this was (you can use it to apply foundation, bb cream, etc.) I was like really? What’s so great about that little sponge? Now I know. It’s you don’t have one already I seriously think you should consider it. You won’t regret it.
~Pacifica Color Quench Lip Tint (Sugared Fig) ($7): I totally love the Pacifica line (I even included the wipes in last month’s favorite things giveaway), so I was really excited to see this in the box. I have never tried it before, but I look forward to it. I gotta tell you, all these subscription boxes make my cosmetics collection so fun. The possibilities are endless.
Must Have Food:
~The Modern Cocktail Modern Margarita Set ($8.29): Umm, hello, could these have come at a better time? I think not. B and I got sucked into “taste testing” some tequila in Costa Maya and ended up buying a few bottles. I dare you to sample a few (it was a tad more than that) different kinds of tequila and not buy any. Not possible. I have considered buying this exact set many times but for whatever reason I didn’t. I cannot wait to have a margarita on the patio. Maybe tomorrow?? It’s supposed to be beautiful out, so there is a good chance that it’s happening!
Must Have Entertainment:
~Questions I Ask When I want to Talk About Myself: 50 Topics to Share with Friends by Mindi Kaling ($13.45): Something tells me that these cards are best utilized after a few margaritas. I think Mindi Kaling is hysterical and I can’t wait to have some people over and break these out!
Must Have Fashion:
~Kooringal – Giselle Mid Brim Hat ($27.99): I look like a complete idiot when I wear hats like these. But will I let that stop me? Heck no I won’t! I think my family is probably pretty happy I didn’t get this box until after we got back from our trip because I totally would have brought it. Totally. I can’t wait to sit by the pool and wear this. It may be a little much for up-north (if you’ve ever been up-north, you know what I mean), but I might take it up for Memorial Day anyway!
~Charm & Chain Gift Card ($30): I have never heard of Charm & Chain before, but it looks like they have some cute stuff. I mean, it’s not as cute as S&D, but you know what I mean. I am going to try and find something to buy that requires nothing out of pocket. I have mixed feelings on the gift cards and codes being included in the boxes. On one hand I like that you get to pick what you like, but on the other hand, I dislike that you often have to spend additional money to redeem it.
Special Extras:
~Way Better Snacks ($1): I have never heard of or tried this brand before, so I was exacted to try them. And they are good! Very good actually!
~PopSugar Tote Bag (~$5): If I didn’t have kids, I would have probably used this as a lunch bag or something. But this will probably turn into a mini diaper bag for WB or a snack tote. I cannot leave the house without a pile of snacks for the kids. It’s just not possible!
And of course:
~Clare Vivier Foldover Deluxe Clutch (Kelly Green) ($180): My pictures do this clutch no justice. It’s stunning! I need to find a place to wear take this. It’s roomier than you’d expect for a clutch and I’m in love.
I came up with a total value of $296.68 for the May PopSugar box! Of course, that includes the clutch. Without the clutch, the box still comes in at $116.68!! Not too bad for $35. And even if you don’t count the Charm & Chain giftcard, the value of the box is still $86.68, which is still a great deal. I LOVED this month’s box (for obvious reasons) and think it’s one of the best ones they have had in a while. And listen, I am SO excited that I got a clutch. It’s like getting a golden Julep Box or whatever they are called! AMAZING!!!

WOW, Did we ever get 2 completely different boxes. Mine is bad I have decided to quit. I have NOTHING that is in your box. Heres what I got, cheap night eye mask (they say worth $24, probably worth $2.00) workout dvd (I am in a wheelchair), plastic bpa free infuser bottle ( best thing in box (how sad), a bottle of nail polish (Obsessive Compulessive worth $10) some stinky St Tropez dispenser that smells like Hawiian Tropic sunscreen (they say $45 and that is totally absurd) and a bag of skinny sticks. How can we get such 2 different boxes, yours being worth over $200 and mine Not worth what I paid for it. I am literally in tears. Does this happen very often? I grabbed the 50% off returners special the other week and they told me that I would be starting in June. Then they sent an email telling me I could get Mays if I wanted but by then I had already seen everything and as much as I do like this month part of the fun is not knowing ahead of time so I said I’d wait until June. Now I can’t wait to start seeing the spoilers for June. 🙂 and I’m glad I took a couple months off since now I’m all excited again to be getting my box.
ahh! thats so awesome that you got the clutch! You totally called it!! I LOVED this month’s box! I seriously feel like I will use every single thing in the box, a BIG upgrade from last months box. I’m most excited to try the beauty blender and the margarita mix!! I love how it comes with the little salt and sugar crystals to rim the glasses.

I’m still waiting on my box! I got my shipping info like on the 9th and its still on its journey!! I’m dying to rip it open and touch everything! I’m sure I won’t have a fancy green clutch in mine though! 🙂 oh, and I’m loving how you’re so tired and or excited that your parentheses and colons turned into sad faces on each listed item!! Yay! You won a clutch! I knew something was up when I got my PopSugar box and didn’t spot a review from you for a few days. I was DYING to see if you won a clutch since you had 2 different shipping methods. Mystery solved!
So, I was totally planning on canceling after this month. Because the past few months have been kind of blah. But I absolutely love everything in this box!!! And this is the first time that I think I will actually use everything in the box. I’m also really excited about the hat!! I hate it when they send jewelry, because I’m usually allergic to it. 🙁 but I will definitely be wearing this hat (I got the dark grey one) at the beach this summer!!!

Congratulations on the clutch! That is too awesome. I loved my pop sugar box this month. I got the hat in black and fully intend to wear mine up north and to all the lakes this summer. Going to pair it with my sarong and glasses from the summer fun box. I am holding on to the Charm and Chain card until what I want comes back in stock. At least it’s good until December.
Finally got my first box today ( I live in central WI)…. anyway, I already knew what was coming since I checked (stalked) 🙂 your blog but the hat was a dissapointment for me…. I dont have a huge head, but man that thing sure doesnt fit me! Oh well, win some lose some I guess.
