Edited to Add: Wittlebee is no longer in business.
I was planning to skip Wittlebee this month, but never actually did anything about it, so I ended up getting a box. In case you don’t know, Wittlebee is a kids clothing club. Each month, you receive 6 items (3 picked by Wittlebee and 3 picked by you from their online Showroom) for $39.99, plus shipping. Back in the day, when they first started, you received 8 items and free shipping, but those days are long gone.
As always, I love the Wittlebee box. You know what I don’t love though? This picture. Like my arm shadow in it? Me either!
I knew what my 3 Showroom Selections were, but I was anxious to see what Wittlebee picked for me. You just never know, which makes it fun. Luckily, I didn’t see anything overly crazy, so I was pleased. Wittlebee doesn’t send an information card since everyone’s box is different I guess, but I wouldn’t mind if they included some sort of sheet with retail prices? Regardless, here is what I received:
~Wittlebee Handlebar Mustache Tee (My Pick) (~$10): I wanted to avoid Wittlebee branded items this month, but this was too cute to pass up. I wasn’t super thrilled with my showroom options for 12-18 months, so I had to browse around a lot in the different sizes to get some items I was okay with. This is a 4T, so it’s going to be a few years before WB can wear it.
~Navy Angry Birds T-Shirt (My Pick) ($19.99): While I would never pay $19.99 for an Angry Birds t-shirt (L might, but I would pay maybe $5), that’s what they appear to be going for. There were LOTS of Angry Birds shirts in the Showroom this month. Lots. I got one in L’s size since I know he’ll like love it.
~Kicky Pants Bamboo Ruffle Onesie (My Pick) ($19.95): Listen, I have no explanation on this one. Yes, I realize that I don’t have a little girl. Nor am I pregnant with a little girl. Or pregnant at all for that matter. Like I said, pickings were slim. But I had to pick something and this was adorable. I figure it will make a nice gift!
~Threadless Octopus Pirate T-Shirt (Wittlebee Pick) ($10.99): I think this is the 3rd time I have gotten a Threadless graphic t-shirt from Wittlebee. Don’t get me wrong, they are okay, but I am getting tired of getting them. Let’s mix it up a little you now?? And like last month, this one has the tag cut out of it (but has a Threadless tag attached), but has Wittlebee & Threadless branding stamped on the inside. Not sure what’s up with that, but it’s worth a mention.
~Kate Quinn Organics Blue Argyle Henley and Pants Set (Wittlebee Pick) (~$35): I can’t find this exact set online (I hate when that happens), but I got a KQO set last time and valued it at $35, so I am sticking with that. The tags on this say “The Littlest Sparrow”, but it’s clearly a Kate Quinn item (the sticker on one of the tags even identifies it as Kate Quinn). I don’t know if the The Littlest Sparrow used to be an offshoot of KQ or what, but I can’t find ANY details on it online which is driving me batty. As for the outfit itself, it’s growing on me. I think WB is going to have to rock the pants backwards though. The pockets are suppose to go in the front. I think not.
All totaled, I came up with a value of $95.93 for my May Wittlebee box. A few of the items were estimates since I couldn’t find the exact pieces online. I wasn’t overly thrilled with my showroom selections and really wish we could STOP with the Wittlebee branded items. The concept is “brand name” items I and just don’t think the Wittlebee branded stuff counts you know? Still, I do have to say, they have improved their shipping delays from prior months. I was billed on 5/7, my box shipped on 5/13 and it arrived on 5/18. Not too bad this month.
