Today I’m smiling because:
~I had a great week away with my family! You may have figured out I was gone from my Instragram pictures, but I didn’t want to come right and say it. I don’t think it’s a great idea to announce on the internet your house is going to be unoccupied for a week you know(*)? But anyway, I have been on a cruise. And it’s been fabulous!
~I have a giant pile of mail and packages waiting for me at home. My neighbor, who is getting my mail for me, thinks I am CRAZY! I tried to warn her, but she just laughed me off. Chances of her ever agreeing to get my mail again are probably slim. I am laughing just thinking about the text she sent me about all the packages. LOL.
~We have the best vet ever. Last Thursday night around, ohh 2am, as I am trying to get things ready for the trip, I decide to check B’s e-mail to see if he signed up for an Urbanathalon. We’d been talking about it earlier in the day, but I didn’t know what he’d decided on. I didn’t see any e-mails about it, but I scrolled down a bit to some older e-mails, you know, just because I was there anyway. And I came to one from the pet resort I had scheduled the furries to stay at while we were gone. So I opened it and read it. And OMG, down at the bottom of the e-mail, in HUGE red letters, it said I needed to make sure to bring updated shot records when we dropped them off. F**K!!!! Clearly we had not done this and I was planning on dropping the boys off in the morning. Thankfully my vet squeezed us at the LAST minute in without a problem, got us all hooked up and all was well. B claims he didn’t read that far down in the e-mail. Good thing one of us did.
~After a horrible first night on the ship (he was up screaming every hour), WB adjusted to a new place, a new crib, etc. SO fabulously. It may not have helped that first night that he had been up since, ohh, 3am that day, took only two short naps and stayed up until 10pm that night. Overtired maybe? But, seriously he did amazing. And L, I wouldn’t hesitate to take that kid anywhere. He’s the best traveler.
~I didn’t go for the Men’s PopSugar Summer Fun box. So far we know it has wooden sunglasses by Proof, Stu’s Bloody Mary Mix (which is delicious), a tie-bar (I think that was it from the hint they gave) and a bracelet. The women’s one was totally me, but I don’t think B would have been too into this one.
~B has Monday off, so it’s going to be so nice to have him around to get caught up on everything!
~L has never had flip flops without a strap in the back (until this year) and I was a tad worried about that, but he’s been totally fine. I’m smiling because his summer shoe options have increased x1000.
~The people at AT&T totally hooked me up. I got SO excited that my cell phone worked so great in the Bahamas (on Disney’s private island) that I downloaded a bunch of e-mails, checked Facebook and Instagram, etc. Umm, turns out that is A LOT more data than I had expected and I got a text from AT&T saying I was ALREADY facing a costly bill. OOPS. So I called them like they suggested and umm, I was up to $226. I swear, I had been on my phone for maybe 15 minutes. Tops. The lovely lady I spoke with said I could buy a one month international package for $30 and the $226 would go away. Umm, yes please! As a side note, I have been on the internet here and there all week on the ship and at free wifi spots around the caribbean (if you ever go on a cruise and want to hear where you can connect free you just let me know), but something about seeing that cell tower on the Disney island made me want to use my iPhone.
That’s it from here! What’s got you smiling today?
(*) I watch the news a lot. This is something they warn you about over and over and over again.
I’m so jealous of your cruise!! We just went on one in March but I’m ready to go back again. How was the disney cruise? I’ve always wanted to try them out. Where do you stop at other than disney’s island?
I loved my cruise. I took my daughter on one when she turned 13 ( Rob was in Iraq ) and then he and I went on one last year. I got sea sick but other then that we had a ball. We did Belize, Cozumel, Roatan, and I cant remember the other one lol glad your back
I’m so paranoid people will find out when we are on vacay. We normally con my single brother-n-law to stay at our house to house/dog sit.
It helps so much having a good Vet!
We’ve never been on a cruise, but would love to go. Maybe someday…I’m happy for you all, I’m sure it was a lot of fun.
Just got back from a cruise to the Bahamas on May 6th… Didn’t do Disney, but saw their ship at Port .. Oh EM GEE 🙂 Not sure where else you went but we totally loved the private island we went to. Best part of our cruise was not having to pay for it! The company I work for took all of its employees on a cruise for meeting a sales goal. There were 74 of us. Nothing like going on vacay on the company’s dime and the time off didn’t come off the vacay time.
I totally agree on the mentioning of vacation details after the fact. I’ve probably gotten excited and forgotten here and there but for the most part I make sure only to talk about things that have passed or refer to them vaguely so it’s not clear the exact time frame. Doesn’t hurt to be safer like that!
I happened to get an onslaught of packages this week and I was so happy to come home after my time away and have 7 things to open!! I wish that was the case more often…
Oh my gosh! You did a Disney cruise! I LOVE pretty much all things Disney and we did the 4 day cruise as part of our honeymoon (the other part was Disney World, haha). Did you guys have fun? How’d the boys like it? We’ve been thinking of going on another with our 2 yr old. You should totally do a post about it!
