Yuzen
Yuzen Summer Box

Yuzen is a quarterly (it used to be monthly) subscription box that sends you a little Zen for every season. It’s $26/quarter and each box includes high-quality natural and organic personal care products, healthy snacks, and lifestyle items carefully chosen from about 6 companies.

The Box

I was so excited to receive my Summer Yuzen Box that I am ashamed to admit how many times I checked the tracking on it. It ships from Colorado and I was trying to determine how many days it would take to land it MI. Luckily they ship via USPS, so I didn’t have to wait long.

First Look
Second First Look

Please tell me that you agree that Yuzen has some of the best packaging out there.  My pictures do it no justice.  It’s so pretty and you can tell that someone spent time making sure that everything looks perfect. Yuzen is a small company and you can tell that Jen and Ted (the owners) really take pride in what they do and want you to love it.

The Packaging

I can’t resist showing once again how pretty everything looks. It’s like a Mother’s Day present. From me to, umm, ME!!!!

The Information Card

The Yuzen information card contains information about each of the products in the box, as well as, well it was chosen to be included in the box by Yuzen. You can also find information on how to buy each of the products and some of them even contain coupon codes. Summer’s Yuzen box was curated to help you celebrate all of the glorious color, scents, and textures of this time of the year. Yuzen also reminds us all to create a little “me time” this season to discover, relax and renew. That’s something I totally need to work on. I mean, I sit plenty, but I am always doing something. I need to just learn to sit outside and just RELAX.

~Level Shower Bomb($7.99): Okay, so I have heard of bath bombs that you put in the bathtub, but never shower bombs. I had to read the card to figure out what exactly one does with a shower bomb. It’s out they are pretty cool. You drop it in the bottom of your shower and as water runs over it, the Shower Bomb releases a spa-like aromatherapy blend of menthol and eucalyptus that helps you breathe deeply and relax. How cool is that? I love the idea and I know B is going to want to try one too. Thank goodness there are four!

~Acure Argan Oil and Marula Oil($2.50/each): I love the idea behind argan oil, but it pretty much hates my skin. It makes no sense at all, but JM Argan Oil dries out my skin and makes it all tight and weird. Like I said, it makes no sense. I am going to give this argan oil a try though since it’s a different brand and maybe will be better to me? And I am all over the marula oil. There was a time I would have been scared to smear oil all over my face, but luckily that has passed!

~Phyt’s Lait Hydro Nettoyant (Water Soluble Cleansing Milk)($7.20): I don’t think I have ever tried a cleansing milk, but I can’t wait too. This removes make-up and impurities and is certified organic, chemical free and soothes and balances the skin. And it smells really good.

~Pritte Organic Skin Therapy – Daily Moisturizing Lotion ($4.50): Pritte is made from hand-cut organic aloe for the highest-quality and most nutrient0dense active enzymes available. Sometimes I wonder, why is (insert almost everything I love here) SO expensive and this explains it. You want quality, you pay for it! This lotion also contains organic honey, which delivers intense moisture and a healthy glow. My skin has been so ick lately and now that the warm weather is around I gotta start to get it under control.

~SpaRitual Nail Lacquer (Emerald City) ($6.50) and SpaRitual Multi-Tasker MiniBase & Topcoat in One($5): I don’t what anyone says, you can never have enough nail polish (*). I love this emerald color and I can always use more topcoats. I have nine million different polishes in every shade of every color out there, but I have like two top coats.

~suki luscious lips berry cream trio($31.95): B has an amazing scrub from Suki (I even use it), but for whatever reason, I didn’t think they sold make-up. I was so excited to see this brand in this month’s Yuzen! This pallet is gorgeous and can be used for checks and lips. The colors are Wineberry Kiss and Sugarberry Pout and the third item is a long-wear lip repair butter. It’s easy to see why this is my favorite item in the entire box.

~JJ’s Cocomels Sweets Sea Salt Pocket Pack($3.99): I tried these in last month’s Love With Food box and they were totally delicious, so I didn’t cry when I saw them in there. They are yummy and I was more than happy to see them in the box! I might even share these with B. We’ll see though.

~Action Wipes (Large)($1.49): Action wipes are pretty much like baby wipes, but for adults. They are specifically created for traveling, sports, camping (never happening) or any time you are on the move. I will pass thing along to B because he’s much more active that I could ever dream of being (although my fitbit is helping with that).

~Juil Coupon Code ($40):  I browsed through the site and really liked the Hera flip-flops.  Until I realized they were $125.  I think not.  Since you have to spend additional money to redeem this coupon, I am not including it in the value.  I think $50 for flip-flops is a bit crazy, so anything over $100 is never happening here, no matter how cute they are!

I totaled, I came up with a value of $69.12 for the summer Yuzen box. I didn’t include the $40 Juli gift card in my value because you have to spend money to redeem it. I am totally in love with this box and I am so glad I subscribed. And while I would love if they went back to monthly, quarterly boxes are probably a better option for Yuzen for me since it gives me plenty of time in between boxes to try and enjoy everything.
